Our magazine issue is dedicated to my beloved brother, Lorenzo. My brother passed away in June and it seems as if it was yesterday. Being a Mental Health Therapist doesn’t make you immune to life happening. I was prepared more to recognize signs of my body feeling pain and how to compartmentalize pain, but grief is one of those things that hits you in waves and today was one of those days when it hit me like a ton of bricks. This weekend I thought of several things I wanted to call and talk to my brother about. I miss his laugh. I literally miss talking with my best friend. But, right there in the middle of my pain, God told me… “I’m going to use this pain for something greater.” So, I encourage you friends… Don’t tell people how to grieve. Instead, be a voice that listens to them without judgment and be someone who checks on them. You’ll never know how much the value of friends and family are during these times. Love people right where they are in this life. Sometimes a listening ear will help someone through more than a conversation geared to advise them. We all need to be heard. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones. Please reach out if you ever need to chat. I love y’all!

I am a dreamer, there’s no other way to say it. I believe in hard work and I don’t mind putting in the time and dedication to make my dreams happen. I look at impossible situations as stepping stones to greatness. But, right there in the middle of launching several God given projects, God has showed me so much since launching my own magazine.

The 1st photo is when I started and the 2nd photo is from the most recent issue. Through it all, He has kept people in my life who didn’t give up on me. These precious souls prayed that discouraging words and delays wouldn’t cloud my vision and that God would always refresh my heart as a leader, creator and CEO… I’m so grateful for the people who understand my dreams. If you’re looking for a sign, this is your sign to live out the dreams God has placed in your life. It doesn’t matter if it seems like you’re not equipped… It doesn’t matter if people support you or not… Your tribe is coming and God will prepare you. Our time on this earth is short and it’s up to us to live each day to it’s fullest. So, let’s dry our tears and get to reading Edition 14!💜

2 years ago, God planted a dream in my heart to launch my magazine. He showed me the journey wouldn’t be easy, but He continuously told me to keep my eyes on the prize. It’s amazing to see how God orders your steps when you trust in Him. What a beautiful labor of love this has been. 😭 Soli Deo gloria! This is your sign to always trust in God… He has a plan! ❤️

Hi Friends!
My name is Anita Ford and I am the founder of Classyandchic Gems Magazine. I will start off with telling you 5 things about myself. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology with a specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling. In undergraduate school, I majored in Psychology and minored in Criminal Justice. I specialize in counseling individuals with mental, developmental, and physical disabilities, individuals with vision impairments and individuals with behavioral disorders. 2) I am an Army brat. My dad is a retired 1SG. I know the sacrifices military families make on a regular basis and I am so proud of the people they are! 3) I am a former beauty pageant queen. I enjoyed both modeling and being in pageants in previous years. I am currently starting to model again and I have also started my own pageant consultant business. I cannot be more excited! 4) My blog, stands for anti-bullying and rooting for the rise of others. I want teenagers and adults to see they are beautiful just the way they are. Ive accomplished a lot of my goals through my blog Savedclassyandchic, but one of my dreams is to start a foundation to mentor teens. My podcast encompasses faith, healthy self esteem, mental health and healthy relationships. God gave me a beautiful vision of His people when I started my fashion blog . God told me to use something that people always compliment me on(my style) and use a public platform to share His love, hope, inspiration and encouragement all in one place.
So, when you see me, know that I founded blog, blogger group, boutique, podcast, pageant consultation business and magazine as a refuge for souls who need inspiring. There’s nothing in this world I love more than Jesus. I see a world filled with people competing and comparing when all the while, God has given all of us unique gifts that will give HIM glory. 5) My hope is that my magazine brings God glory and shines a lot on His beautifully broken people. I look forward to sharing the beautiful messages God has put on my heart and I also pray you’re blessed by the stories of the writers, as well. Stay tuned!
