popantipop is the house that Michael Patterson (Beck, BRMC, She Wants Revenge, Great Northern, The Social Network) built. It is an independent label and production studio working in tandem under one sturdy roof.
“I think of popantipop as a living room where all of my friends can come over and get advice. The name popantipop came about during a heated discussion with an artist that Michael was producing when he asked him “how could someone so pop be so anti-pop?” At that moment it clicked in his head that the combination of those words perfectly described his own musical tastes and the extremes reflected in the types of artists he had chosen to work with throughout his career.
