The University of Rhode Island welcomed over 3,250 first-year students for the start of the new school year. Move-in weekend marked the return of Greek Life members helping with move-ins for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Upperclassmen assisted newcomers with moving into the dorms and getting acquainted with campus. URI enrolled over 17,000 students this semester, with around 5,700 living in campus housing. The diverse incoming freshman class brought great energy to campus. Move-in was bittersweet for some parents but exciting for students. Freshmen expressed a mix of emotions but orientation helped ease nerves. The campus community is focused on welcoming new students and helping them find their place at URI.

Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) is happy to present our 12th Annual Bark on the Beach on Saturday, September 23rd from 9am to 11am on Narragansett Town Beach! Bark on the Beach is a one-mile walk along Narragansett Town Beach, from the South Pavilion to the Narrow River and back. Enjoy an invigorating walk along one of the most beautiful beaches in New England.
