Today’s #tbt goes to the flooring update we tackled a few years back. To this day, updating the flooring in our home was one of the hardest projects we have tackled. Not only was it incredibly difficult to remove the old tile but it was extremely difficult to flatten the ground in preparation for the new flooring. I’m not sure we’ll be doing anymore flooring updates anytime soon but overall it was a great learning experience. Have you been through a renovation? What was the hardest part?

For this build, we used a sanding flap disk but there are several other types of discs that you can use, on a variety of materials, depending on the project. Anyone ever over complicate things unintentionally? Planned to stain this blanket ladder to give it a more distressed look but instead of making it more complicated (we aren’t currently working from our shop) we decided to rub some dirt on it… literally. We took some wet dirt and just rubbed it on the ladder. A great reminder to keep it simple (when possible).

Anyone else regularly underestimate projects? Once again we thought we picked an “easier” build for our challenge submission but it turns out this was quite difficult 😅So here is our perfectly imperfect submission to May’s YouTube Cross Channel Challenge. This months theme was mimic. The photo we picked is one we took while we were on vacation years ago. Our Youtube video will be posted later today and will go into more detail on the process. Mistakes were made but learned a lot throughout the process.
