RE: IMPROVING THE RHETORIC COMMUNITY
Hi friends! To improve and grow our community, we created a new position: curators.
We're extending the application period to get more applications in, and hope all of you will help us spread the message!
The curator position is for those who have a creative eye, are interested in creative direction, and would like to work with a diverse group of artists internationally and facilitate collaboration. Time commitment is low - about 3-6 hours a week.
WHY DO WE NEED CURATORS?
- The issues will take less time to publish! With our new structure, it might take only 3 months to get an issue out. This means less waiting, more collaboration and generally less bureaucracy!
- More unique styles and visions! Curators will add their own artistic flavours to their section, creating new and different experiences for contributors.
- Closer collaboration relationships! Having someone head each section not only means less micromanagement, but also closer relationships to the person who edits and publishes your work. This means better feedback to help you grow as an artist, and a ready reference should you ever need one.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- Share the poster on your facebook wall and contact artsy friends, letting them know about this awesome opportunity!
- Share the poster in university/community groups where you think interested people are likely to find it!
- Print out a few posters & put them in your local cafes/ art galleries/ event locations
We'd like to make being part of the Rhetoric a great experience for everyone. Do you have suggestions as to how we can encourage more people to apply? We're open to notes/ideas/questions.
