BREAKING NEWS: Dr. Timothy Beard, the interim president at Florida A&M University, is quickly making changes since he took over. Yesterday, he sent a form letter to his senior leadership team requesting their immediate resignations by the end of business today, Aug. 13.

Dear Senior Leadership Team Member:

As you know, our University (FAMU) is at a critical juncture, where we must align our leadership, vision, and strategies to meet the evolving challenges and opportunities ahead. After careful consideration and in consultation with the Board of Trustees, the past University President, and from my observations, I have concluded that a change in our senior leadership team is necessary to move forward more effectively.

Given the importance of this transition, I am respectfully requesting your resignation from your position effective 8/13/2024. Please see attached the template to utilize relative to submitting your resignation letter no later than the close of business on 8/13/2024. This decision was not made lightly and is rooted in a commitment to ensuring that our University is positioned for future success and growth.

Please know that this request may not be a reflection of your individual contributions or dedication to our institution. Your hard work and commitment to the University over the years have been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate the many ways you have served our community. However, at this time, we believe that new leadership is essential for the University to achieve its long-term goals.

I want to reiterate my sincere gratitude for your service and contributions to our University. Your leadership during your tenure has left a lasting impact on our institution, and I wish you continued success in your future endeavors.

Is learning the Bollywood Flash Dance on your bucket list? If so, here's your opportunity!

Dr. Sheni Meghani is inviting you to participate in Bollywood Flash Dance at Gentiva Ocala Metro India Fest on October 5th at Citizens' Circle in Downtown Ocala.

Please see the YouTube link below for the dance and the music for the Bollywood Flash Dance.

Flash Dance 2024 (youtube.com)
You will face the dancer and practice the dance moves, by simply following him. If he goes to his right, you will be going to your left (also known as "mirroring").

If you desire, you can decrease the speed of the video to 50 or 75 percent of the original as you practice the dance until you are comfortable with the dance moves. You can find this option in the video settings (looks like a gear).

You can modify the moves to your comfort (e.g. eliminate jumps by tapping the floor instead, take steps instead of lunges, etc.) if need be.
You are most welcome to invite others to participate by sharing this e-mail and YouTube video link.

On the event day October 5th -
When the Bollywood Flash Dance starts at the event, the DJ will play this music, and you will dance the moves you learned from the video.
You can wear whatever you prefer for the Flash Dance at the event.
Exact time for the flash dance will be announced in September.

Practice Sessions -
Participants are expected to practice at your own pace as your schedule permits; and be prepared to perform with others on October 5th.

Dates and times will be announced shortly for open zoom meetings (2 or 3) to practice the dance together in person or via zoom prior to the event day. You can join the meetings as per your preference, need and availability.

No one-on-one or personal coaching is available for Flash Dance from the event organizers.

For questions related to participation in Bollywood Flash Dance, please contact Sarita Rao at [email protected].
