CASTING NOTICE -
Me… In Real Life. A new web series from YAP TV - in partnership with Heritage Woods Secondary in Port Moody.
A coming-of-age high school drama about a shy teen girl, her rebellious best friend, the chaos of social media, and the pursuit of her first kiss.

Our projects have won 4 Leo Awards in the past 2 years! (Best Web Series and 3 for Best Performance).

Email [email protected] if you’re a local and interested in auditioning. We are seeking teen actors to play authentic high school characters and extras. Auditions mid October. Filming late November.

KELSEY (16, Female, Lead) A shy, sweet, and grounded teenager looking to reinvent herself. As she navigates her crush and potential first kiss, we see her slowly coming out of her shell.

LEXI (16, Female, Supporting Lead) Kelsey’s best friend. Confident, edgy, and full of energy. Lexi is the catalyst for much of Kelsey’s transformation. She’s rebellious and pushes boundaries. Should be comfortable with physical comedy.

RYAN (16-17, Male, Supporting) Charming and flirtatious over text, but awkward and insecure in person.

ELLIOT (17, Male, Supporting) Quietly confident. Sensitive and artistic. He will become a love interest for Kelsey in future episodes.

MADISON (17, Female, Supporting)
Elliot’s girlfriend. Intimidating and manipulative.

CURTIS (16, Male, Supporting) An unassuming classmate. Likable, slightly nerdy.

NOAH & ALEX (16-17, Male, Supporting) A gay couple at school who provide relationship advice to Kelsey and Lexi. Noah is calm and detached.
Alex is overly affectionate.

TYLER (15, Male, Supporting) Kelsey’s younger brother. Clean-cut and good-looking, he’s seen as the “golden child” by their parents.

JESSICA (15, Female, Supporting)
Tyler’s girlfriend.

Hey Film Friends 🎬

I've recently joined the board of a very cool non-profit called Web Series Canada.
www.WebSeriesCanada.org
This organization supports both professional and emerging web series creators. It's behind Canada's premier Web Series Festival, the T.O. WebFest. It also offers free professional development for members giving them access one on one coaching from experienced industry professionals.

Part of my role involves organizing in-person educational and networking events in Vancouver. These gatherings are designed to empower creators with knowledge on essential topics such as securing funding, mastering the role of a show-runner, and honing directing skills. It's a fantastic opportunity for learning, sharing, and connecting with fellow creators.

These events are free for members - but are also open to non-members. (Becoming a member is cheap and gives you access to the coaching program.)

We're on the lookout for potential speakers who can inspire and educate, as well as industry sponsors who are keen to support the growth and development of web series talent. Whether you're interested in sharing your expertise as a speaker or you know a business or industry partner interested in backing such an event, your help would be invaluable.

If you want to get involved or know someone who might be, please don't hesitate to reach out. We have a sponsor deck ready to share. I hope to re-connect with some of you through this cool organization.
