This movie isn’t for everyone as there is a lot of gore and difficult imagery - but it is SO much more than torture p**n. There is a much deeper story that is worth watching if you can handle the violence. 💥 A story of trauma, guilt, pain, suffering, and discovery. Just remember, there are some things that you can’t unsee — and this film is one of them! 👀(There is an American 2015 version that is a bit more toned down as well)

Different strokes for different folks and all that but Midsommar is truly one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s gruesome. It’s tragic. It’s shocking. And it’s a damn good story. Highly recommend this one and it won’t matter if you leave the lights on or not for this daylight horror- you will be changed forever 🐻🔥

I have watched the remake 20 times, this year I l read the novel it’s based on “The Midwich Cuckoos” by John Wyndham and it was SO GOOD that i had to watch the original from 1960. 👽

BOY am I glad I did because it is a pretty darn close adaptation and sufficiently CREEPY AF. 😦 The premise is terrifying, the effects they use for the children is super eerie, and sometimes it just feels nice to watch a black & white film 🎥

I did NOT realize Tremors was a horror COMEDY as a kid- and that’s what’s great about it. It’s legitimately terrifying. 😱 The deaths are gruesome, the creature design is unlike any other, and the isolated location and small (but awesome) cast make this a damn near perfect scare fest.

Mother, referred to as "Hag Face" by the locals, was a feared and revered witch and prophetess living in England in the 1500's. 🧙‍♀️ Posthumously compared to Nostradamus, she predicted things like the Great fire of London 🔥 the ex*****on of Mary Queen of Scots 👸 indoor plumbing 🚽 and the internet! 🖥

She was born Ursula Soothtale in 1488 in a cave in North Yorkshire to her 15 year old mother Agatha and unknown father. Many rumored that Ursula was the daughter of the devil due to her hunched back, and deformed face 👹She spent her early childhood in that cave, now known as Mother Shipton's cave, where the water could "turn things to stone" until her mother went to a convent and Ursula was placed into foster care. 🪨

Despite many rumors of baby Ursula crawling up walls to cackle maniacally over fireplaces, or materializing chamber pots to fall on her tormentors heads, she grew and became the town herbalist, making potions and medicine to help the local residents. 🪴 She married a carpenter named Toby Shipton, which rumors claimed she must have bewitched. Unfortunately passed only two years after their wedding, and again the rumors of witchcraft were the believed culprit.

Tired of the rumors, Mother Shipton left town and moved back to the same cave she had been born in. There she continued as a herbalist, witch, and now prophetess. Talk of her power traveled far and people came from all over to get spells and prophecies from Mother Shipton. ✨ Unlike most stories of witches, she lived to the ripe old age of 72, and died peacefully in her cave. Her prophecies would become legend and turned into a book called "The Wonderful World of Mother Shipton" printed in 1686. A book people still refer to today. Lest we not forget her prophecy that seems to be about climate change...

Wow, six years huh? That's a long time, a lot of episodes and a TON of topics. In those six years new information has come to light, DNA evidence has given us some answers, robots have evolved and in some cases-- scary situations got even scarier.

This week Ashley and Lauren are revisiting six stories that they shared on past episodes that have NEW information!

We get to find the identity of multiple Jane Does AND the famous Somerton Man (Taman Shud case) we check in on SOPHIA the robot to see what the heck her android ass has been up to, we hear from scientists who prove that a very famous theory in the Dytlov Pass Incident COULD be possible and we check in to see if the United States military has started taking sexual assault cases a little more seriously (Spoiler alert: they haven't.)

This episode was a lot of fun, it was really cool to revisit old stories we shared on the show and finally get some answers... and in some cases... even more questions

This week is ALL ABOUT MOVIES!! A fun Crossover episode with our podcast from another broadcast- Movies that Made Us Gay!

Movies That Made Us Gay is ALL about the films we watched growing up that contributed to who we became as adults. So it's only appropriate that we take the time to celebrate the movies that made us WEIRD!

This week Lauren is joined by Scott and Pete as they revisit three 80's movies that in some way contributed to the strange individuals they grew into.

Pete starts us off with 1989's UHF starring Weird Al Yankovich, Scott is bringing us 1981's Roar - a film that had more problems on set than you could possibly imagine, and Lauren is taking about Parents (1989) which marked possibly the first- but definitely not the last- time that Randy Quaid scared the crap out of us.

This week we are revisiting our hit series from 2020 - the SNACK PACK IS BACK as we learn about some AMAZING WOMEN from history that our history books just forgot to mention.

Ashley and Lauren are joined by Keep It Beard host AMY HANSELMANN as we discover some ladies who changed the world. This week we're focusing on some badass bi***es from WWII- Truus and Freddie Oversteegen who, for lack of a better term, seduced N***s and traitors to their death in the Netherlands. They joined forces with the famous "girl with the red hair" Hannie Schaft- a skilled assassin who was brutally tortured and put to death after spending years on Hitlers "most wanted" list.

And Amy brings us the story of Irena Sendler-- who saved TWICE AS MANY jews from death than Oskar Schindler, and yet, has no mainstream movie. Irena did whatever she had to do to protect Jewish people, and especially Jewish children, from the N**i forces- saving over 2,500.

We hope this series educates you and INSPIRES you to be a troublemaker and do what is right, even in the face of certain death. Raise badass women who all grow up to know Hannie Schaft's last words to her ex*****oner: "I shoot better."

Mmmmm Pudding Bones...

It's time to EVOLVE, weirdos! This is part ONE of our series on evolution and naturally we had to invite Mr. Anthropology minor himself HANDSOME JOE on the show to come teach us about some of the things he learned when he was hard at work NOT earning a degree in anthropology.

This week Joe starts us off discussing a major SOCIAL evolution that made us the human beings we are today. The AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION! I know it sounds boring... and maybe it is... but not when Joe is teaching it. How did we go from primitive humans to the Tesla driving, avocado toast munching, k**a sutra reading beings we are today?

Ashley takes over to tell us her absolute FAVORITE theory of evolution- the grooviest theory we've got-- known as the Stoned Ape theory. Scientists are still searching for the answers to what on Earth (or beyond) enabled our species to enhance our intelligence and consciousness further than any other species on the planet? Could it be... DRUGS?!

And Lauren finishes the episode by teaching us some other totally plausible and not at all baseless theories on evolution that unfortunately come from our religious friends known as creationists.
