► METALLURGY: Application of electromagnetic stirring results in 5 percent productivity increase and 3.6 percent reduction in electrical energy consumption. The new electric arc furnace has a diameter of 9.1 meters and is continuously fed by a Consteel® conveyor and the latest generation of Tenova injection system. The furnace has tapping size of 300 metric tons.

► LOGISTICS: Volvo Trucks delivers 110 Volvo VNR Electric trucks for the global logistics company Maersk. The deal adds to a previous order of 16 vehicles of the same model and marks the single largest commercial order to date for Volvo’s electric trucks. Deliveries of the 126 electric Volvo trucks will start in the second quarter of 2022.

The Volvo VNR Electric has an operating range of up to 440 km and energy storage of up to 565kWh. The truck can be 80% charged in 90 minutes with the six-battery package and 60 minutes with the four-battery version.

The construction of the Olimp Labs Smart Logistics Center took two years (2013-2015). In the process of creating the center, the company used an innovative concept of storage and logistics methods, based on our own innovations and patent applications. These were solutions that were not used in the broadly understood pharmaceutical industry at the time.

► ROBOTICS: A robot which accurately replicates the mechanics of a human arm has been manufactured to remove specific waste from hazardous liquids from a safe, remote distance. Instead of removing all materials manually at the end of the process, the creation of the robotic arm allows companies to target specific materials and move them safely into a designated waste area.
