My beloved wife, Emma, decided to start looking for a job in retail, thinking it would be the perfect fit for her interests. One day, while at the shopping center, she saw that a famous lingerie shop was hiring, as advertised on a poster outside the store.

I've been raising my five-year-old son Luke on my own since forever, and my ex hardly ever sees him. Four months ago, I started dating Jake. He seemed like a total catch — a teacher who loves kids. My husband, Owen, divorced his ex-wife 8 years ago, and she weaponized their two kids (4M and 5F at the time) to try to make him stay. When that didn't happen, she alienated the kids from him, and they didn't want any contact with him anymore.

My husband John and I were all set to fly to his parents with our adorable, if a bit rowdy, two-year-old. John's been moaning about needing a "break" for ages. Little did I know, he meant a break from US!

So, a middle-aged couple moved in next door recently. No kids, just them. They came over to say hi and acted all weird, but I brushed it off. A week later, I went to visit my mom for the weekend.
