✨Moments of Gratitude✨

I am truly full of so much gratitude from the last week.
Most of all, the people I’ve met on this journey have been one of the most amazing parts. That said, I also realize my account is public and haven’t included many of the people who were a big part of these memories in an effort to respect their privacy. I hope you all know how much I cherish the memories we’ve shared together and the connections I’ve made with you all along the way. 🙏🏻✨

✨Had the best time doing the sunrise hike from Pico to Pico with my Outsite fam. Not only was the hike stunning but the company was even better. Also a big thank you & photo cred to .ca for taking stunning pics throughout this journey (including this one).

✨Grateful to have had a car this week. I miss driving & truly enjoyed my time driving around and exploring the island. Also PSA you want to rent a car in Madeira.

✨Grateful for another stunning seaside hike & the company I shared it with. Thanks for putting up with my crappy lung capacity for STEEP hikes & for helping me through the obstacles we encountered along the way. We are one RUGGED group of hikers! 💪🏻

✨A visit to Santana & stumbling across a beautiful Santana house and hidden gem hotel I found along the way.

✨A solo day exploring the north side of the island checking out all the stunning views Madeira has to offer.

✨An unplanned 🩴 hike to Risco Waterfall. The waterfall was breathtaking but the company & the conversations I had with my friend were better. Also later on both my amazing roomies, searching for a parking spot & parking my car for me, while I sprinted to my 10 AM EST meeting. 🥹

✨Another girls day exploring the Natural Pools of Porto Moniz & Seixal Beach. Again this one is more about the girl time & the company than the sights.

✨Can’t believe I did 3 hikes in a week but another breathtaking sunrise hike with my Outsite fam.

✨A day in Funchal seeing all the stunning gardens and checking out the views from the cable cars with my buddy and the conversations we had along the way.

✨The entire last day yesterday with my Outsite fam. 🥹

✨Moments of Gratitude from the last week. 🙏🏻

✨Had the chance to see the Northern Lights. Even though it was a cloudy night and my luck was not good on the previous nights, I was SO thankful to be able to finally see the lights on my last night in Tromso. I will say it was a magical experience and a truly beautiful sight.

✨Getting to see Amsterdam! I was so grateful to be able to see at least one part of the Netherlands and I can’t wait to go back. Walking around Amsterdam was literally like walking around in a fairy tale. I can’t say enough good things about Amsterdam. If you have not been, be sure to add it to your list!

✨ I also just really needed a week to enjoy myself and for some self care. I am so grateful for the shopping, the delicious food and general good vibes and down time I had in Amsterdam. It truly gave me a moment to pause and appreciate it all and take it all in.

✨Rijksmuseum - Sometimes I go to museums just to see them and to see a few select works of art, but I have to say that I was so pleasantly surprised by Rijksmuseum! I found the layout of the museum to be very clear and also I loved the concise descriptions they gave along the way. From Rembrant to Van Gogh to dollhouses, this museum has it all.

✨Grateful for everyone at the boutique hotel I stayed at in Amsterdam. They were just incredible. They always had a smile on their faces, they were genuinely nice people who were always happy to help and give the latest recommendations. Stay tuned for details!

✨Seeing the most beautiful rainbow while I was walking to dinner in the rain. What a reminder that rainy days are just temporary and better things are just around the corner. 🌈

✨Getting to meet for dinner! There’s nothing I love more than meeting other travel creators, it’s so cool how much so many of us have in common. It was truly serendipitous that we ran into each other in Amsterdam vs. NYC, and she is genuinely one of the nicest, most down to earth people I’ve met. 🩷

Gratitude is such a great tool for helping your mindset!
What’s one thing you’re grateful for this past week??

I have a confession to make…

I have nothing to post today & no helpful tips to post. In fact, I don’t have any content planned for the rest of the week. And guess what? That’s OK!

I’m honestly overwhelmed with the amount of things I have to get done not only with my full time job but also for the digital nomad trip I’m leaving for on Saturday. Not to mention the fact that I have nothing booked yet past London. 😅

There’s this voice in my head saying you have to post on insta today or the algorithm will punish you. Idk if it’s true or not but it’s just an added pressure to everything else on my plate.

I’ve seen SO many creators lately put so much pressure on themselves too, because we all love what we do and want to succeed.

So, although I don’t have any insightful travel tips to share today, I just wanted to share what was on my heart. I wanted to keep it real. Life is not perfect, it’s ok to be human. Pause, take a deep breath and put one foot in front of the other.

Everything is going to be ok! You got this! ❤️

xoxo

All you need to know about Manuel Antonio National Park 🇨🇷

Save this post for your trip to Costa Rica!

You don’t want to miss Manuel Antonio National Park in the South of Costa Rica. 🇨🇷 Not only is this area home to some of the most spectacular beaches and turquoise waters you have ever seen, but the National Park is home to a variety of wildlife you won’t want to miss! From frogs to iguanas to toucans and of course sloths, you do not want to skip this stunning national park in Costa Rica!

High Season/Dry Season in Costa Rica is December - April

Hours for Manuel Antonio National Park:
CLOSED on Tuesdays
Open from 7 AM - 4 PM year round, every other day of the week.

Parking:
There is no parking at Manuel Antonio but there are private parking areas in the area, beware of scammers claiming they can get you parking in the park/next to the park.

Not allowed in the National Park:
Pets, Drones, Food or Drink.

Tickets:
You can purchase tickets onsite or online through the national park’s website. Standalone tickets (not guided tours) are $18.08
Guided tours through the park start at $70/per person (adult)

You can also do what I did and arrange the tour directly through the resort you stay at in the area. I would highly suggest a guided tour if you want to spot wildlife. The tour guides have telescopes and are highly trained on finding/spotting the wildlife. If you’re just going for the beach, you can probably skip the tour.

Is Manuel Antonio National Park on your bucket list?

🌍 X is for XVII Municipio in Rome 🇮🇹

Not going to lie, this is a bit of a stretch 😂😅 but according to apple photos it’s a place! Great for the ABC challenge, not great for me giving solo travel tips! 😅 I looked on google maps and it appears to be mostly Castel Sant‘Angelo & some random parts of Prati.

Here’s some practical info I CAN provide you all with:

Castel Sant‘Angelo:
A must visit in Rome for incredible history and stunning views of Rome from the top.
👉🏻Closed on Mondays, Christmas Day & New Years Day:
👉🏻Hours are Tuesday - Sunday from 9 AM - 7:30 PM (last entry at 6:30 PM)
👉🏻Entry is 13 Euros + 6.50 euros to see the exhibitions & ticket reservations are encouraged on the weekends.

I actually stayed in Prati my first time in Rome and REALLY loved it. It felt less touristy to me and like an authentic Italian 🇮🇹 experience. As a solo sober traveler, I felt totally safe in this area and it was easy to walk to local restaurants and cafes along with Castel Sant Angelo and the Vatican.

So for today, enjoy some Rome photos and don’t forget to follow along for some more practical solo sober travel info once I finish this ABC challenge on Wednesday! 🤍

What places do you all want to see next once the ABC challenge is over?

🌍 V is for Venice 🇮🇹

Unveil the magic of Venice, Italy, the magical city that floats on water. As a solo sober female traveler, you’ll find luxury in the city’s unique charm and timeless elegance.

Start the day with a private gondola ride through the intricate maze of canals, taking in the city’s grandeur reflected in the water. Visit St. Mark’s Square to soak in the rich history, and don’t miss a tour of the Doge’s Palace. Wander through the vibrant Rialto Market, where colorful stalls overflow with fresh produce and Venetian specialties. Indulge in a luxury shopping spree at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi, and end the day with a rooftop dining experience overlooking the city’s skyline. Remember, sometimes luxury is about the journey, the experiences, and the memories we create.

🌍 R is for Riomaggiore 🇮🇹

Embracing the serenity of Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre, Italy – where every sunset paints the sky in hues of magic. 🌅✨ As a sober solo female traveler, I’ve discovered the true luxury lies in the simplicity of moments like these. 💖

Since I’ve already shared the best things to do in Riomaggiore, here are some general tips for my fellow solo sober adventurers:

✨Seek out local gems for an authentic experience.
✨Embrace the art of slow travel – savor every sight and sound.
✨Prioritize self-care and mindfulness in your journey.

Cheers to the beauty of travel without the need for booze – because the real high comes from the beauty of the world itself. 🌍💫

All you need to know about the Maldives of Thailand🇹🇭 👇🏻

K is for Koh Lipe 🇹🇭!

I had so many options for the letter K but I wanted to share my absolute favorite Thai Island: Koh Lipe. Koh Lipe is essentially the Madlives of Thailand. In the heart of the Andaman Sea, it’s the clearest water you can imagine with beautiful rock formations that give you Seychelles vibes. It’s the perfect island for everyone, but a great spot for solo travelers to take a luxurious beach break.

Best time to visit is during the dry season from November - April. It’s a very small walkable island so you’ll be able to walk everywhere you want to go!

How to get there:
From BKK (Bangkok) fly to Hat Yai and hire a car or taxi to take you to Pak Bara Pier. The drive is ~ and hour and a half. From the pier you can easily take a ferry (also about 1.5 hrs) to Koh Lipe. The ferries generally run in the morning so plan your flight accordingly. If you’re transiting to Thailand from Malaysia there are also ferries from Langkwai and these take about 30 mins.

What to do:
👉🏻Snorkeling trip, easily arranged by your hotel or in the town center. You’ll likely get to do a trip to a monkey 🐒 island as well!
👉🏻Diving - you can get your open water certification at one of the many diving schools & Koh Lipe’s crystal clear waters are the perfect spot for diving.
👉🏻Day trip to Koh Adang - hike to Koh Lipe viewpoint
👉🏻Sunrise on Sunrise beach
👉🏻Sunset at Sunset beach
👉🏻Walking street (town center)for restaurants, massages & shopping.
👉🏻Rent a Kayak and explore the small neighboring islands.

Which activity sounds like the most fun to you? Have you heard of Koh Lipe?

✨D is for Dolmabache Palace in Istanbul. 🇹🇷✨

Step into a world of grandeur and history at Dolmabahce Palace. As a solo sober luxury traveler, I couldn’t resist exploring this magnificent landmark. A testament to opulent architecture, this palace speaks volumes of the magnificence that the Ottoman Empire was known for. From its breathtaking architecture to its fascinating stories & stunning Bosporus views, Dolmabahce Palace is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of opulence.

Here are some pro tips to help best plan you visit:
✨Highly suggest booking tickets in advance. (I did not do this and the line was quite long 😅)

✨Closed on Mondays. Admission from 9 AM to 4 PM with last admission at 3:30 PM.

✨No photos 📸 allowed inside the palace (and it’s enforced)!

✨Dress comfortably for a leisurely stroll through the palace grounds. Think comfy walking shoes.

✨ Have fun & bring your camera for photos on the stunning grounds outside the palace & on the Bosphorus.

✨Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Resort✨

Realized it’s been a minute since I shared some of the incredible hotels & resorts I’ve had the opportunity to stay through my travels.

Funny story, when I was researching resorts in the Manuel Antonio area 🇨🇷 there were 2 that spoke to me. They were also super booked up in Feb of last year (I went for Valentine’s 💝 Day) so I ended up splitting up my booking between 2 resorts virtually next to each other.

I ended up only spending one day/night here, but as you can tell, I saw the most incredible sunsets 🌅!

Should I share a reel of the hotel room tour I filmed of this resort next? Let me know in the comments! 👇🏻

✨2023 Moments of Gratitude 🙏🏻💖✨

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: To try to fit my 2023 memories into a 5- 7 second reel or 10 carousel post will never be my thing, it’s literally impossible. 😂 That said, as 2023 comes to a close, I tried my best to pick only 10 photos to represent moments of joy & gratitude over this past year.

One of the biggest highlights of my year was creating this account and getting to know all of you. ❤️ I wanted to post a picture to represent that, but keeping in theme with this account, I figured I would share these special moments & take you on the journey with me. 🫶🏻

1. Sunrises & Sunsets in Costa Rica which barely scratches the surface of all the other amazing memories made in Costa Rica. 🇨🇷

2. Entering a new decade of life and celebrating my 40th with family in Marrakesh 🇲🇦 ❤️

3. Getting to see an ancient wonder, the Pyramids of Giza but truly just all of Egypt. 🇪🇬

4. My 1st (and a few weeks later 2nd) Hot Air Balloon ride. 1st in Luxor 🇪🇬 & later in Cappadocia 🇹🇷. Truly once in a lifetime moments.

5. Sunset Horseback riding in Cappadocia 🇹🇷, which was not only beautiful but also really reminded me how much I miss and love riding. 🐎

6. Getting to see Ephesus & Pamukkale (not pictured) which goes along with my next one…

7. Road tripping 🚘 around Turkey (and Greece and St Barths & Anguilla) and all the hidden gems I got to see and explore.

8. Another first, paragliding 🪂 over the blue lagoon in Oludeniz 🇹🇷.

9. My first time in & a taste of Greece 🇬🇷. I immediately fell in love. 😍❤️

10. The Anguilla 🇦🇮 arch, which was stunning but this photo is really meant to represent SO much more, it stands for all the memories I made in St Maarten, St Barths & Anguilla.

I haven’t shared many of these photos or experiences yet, but I am so excited to share all this with you in the coming weeks. I am truly humbled & grateful for all of you.

What’s your favorite memory of 2023?

If we don’t know each other, I’d love to connect! ❤️

✨ Koh Phi Phi 🇹🇭 📷 dump & Luxury Hotel Recs✨

📎Save this post for your trip to Koh Phi Phi Thailand 🇹🇭!

Just a few of my favorite photos of Koh Phi Phi in Thailand & a couple of luxury accommodation recommendations for Phi Phi. 🇹🇭

If you’ve ever visited Thailand 🇹🇭 before you know that there is definitely a big nightlife/party scene. As a sober solo traveler, I tend to try to avoid staying in the big party areas an opt for a more quiet location in these type of places.

The great thing about Phi Phi is there are tons of activities from scuba to snorkeling to a long tail boat tour and also tons of restaurant and food options, but my general rule of thumb is to avoid the city center and opt for a location to stay a bit off the beaten path.

For my luxury accommodations there are only 2 - 5 star ⭐️ hotels on Koh Phi Phi (both off the beaten path and in quiet areas) that are perfect for luxury solo sober travelers!

📍Zeavola Resort & Spa
This resort offers everything from beachfront to pool villa suites. As a member for Small Luxury Hotels of the world Considerate Collection Zeavola is an environmentally conscious and sustainable luxury hotel with everything from spa to diving & other excursions all offered on site.

📍SAii Phi Phi Island Village Resort
This resort offers everything from seaview to beachfront to hillside pool villas and has every activity under the sun from water sports to tennis, yoga & a diving center.

Is Koh Phi Phi 🇹🇭 on your bucket list?

As we enter into Christmas & a new week, just a pause for some gratitude for special moments over the past week.

✨An incredible holiday party with my colleagues here at home.
✨Incredibly crafted mocktails to make social gatherings a bit less awkward.
✨A massage to de-stress & release some tension.
✨Amazing workouts with the incredible trainers at Rumble.
✨Fresh flowers to brighten my apt.
✨A beautiful nightcap checking out the holiday decorations at the Palace Hotel. (Also the cab driver who patiently waited for me while I grabbed photos). 🥹
✨Grateful for my life at home in NYC.
✨All the delivery drivers who have brought me supplies while I quarantine & gratitude that I can get almost anything delivered🥹

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! Don’t forget to take a minute to be grateful for all you have this holiday season! 🥹❤️💚

In a world of swipes & situationships, just a reminder to choose yourself, make decisions that are best for you & to live your best life.

It’s SO easy to get caught up in the hurt and drama of the modern dating world, but I promise you that it’s a million times easier to catch a flight, explore a new country & culture, learn more about yourself & grow as a human.

I get it. I’ve been there, I’m still living in that world and it SUCKS. Sometimes I have to take a beat and remember that there’s a WHOLE world out there! Who cares about the nonsensical dating stuff when there’s a whole world out there waiting to be explored?

So just a simple reminder, that you are worthy of great things! Stop waiting on that dude and get out there & DO YOU! Don’t forget to remember your worth & value in this modern dating world. ❤️

And if you’re feeling lost or you don’t know where to start with solo travel, you can always shoot me a DM! 🫶🏻
