I had the arthroscopic surgery on my knee on Friday around 2:30 PM. I was woken up around 630. It turned out to that my ACL was completely torn. So they had to do reconstruction surgery on my ACL using tendons from my thigh, and now I have two screws in my knee. It’s been a bit of a battle with pain management, but I’m mentally ok.

My left leg isn’t ALLOWED to leave the bed at all for 2-3 days. So that’s gonna be fun. We are ordering me a few brace that I’ll have to wear for
3 months.

Not covered by insurance: urine collection “cup”, bed pan, and caregiver woman who stayed with me all night to help the nurses take care of me. Apparently this is common practice in China.

They are suggesting complete rest at home and not working for two weeks. Since this is the last two weeks of school, I can’t promise I’m gonna do that cause I do wanna be able to say bye to my students.

As for me coming home on in mid July. They are scheduling me at least two physical therapy sessions and I’ll let those decide if I need to move my ticket.
