Saturday the Aledo VFW Post 1571 will honor Veterans Day with a short parade beginning at 11am at the old Northside School in Aledo, the parade will travel south down College and hang a right at SW 2nd Ave. culminating with a speech presented by jay Doherty at the Armed Forces Memorial.

We don’t know about you but 🤤

Guess what.. it’s been a while since we’ve had breakfast burritos on the menu.

I hope everyone’s had the chance to eat the stash in your freezer!

These burritos come individually wrapped so they can be frozen and pulled out for a quick breakfast.

I like the thaw mine in the fridge over night (you can store them in the fridge for a few days) and then I fry them in a little butter in the skillet to warm them up and crisp up the tortilla.

But if you’re looking for a quicker route, heating up in the microwave is just fine.

Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cheese and salsa. All wrapped up in a flour tortilla.

We are still in search of an office location in Mercer County suitable for a broadcast station. We would love to stay in Mercer County since most we do is and will be centered around our beautiful county.

The ideal location would have 3 office spaces and a small lobby area but is not required.

Floral Hall is SAFE!

UPDATE ON THE FLORAL HALL:
Recently there has been a change in the announcement the Mercer County Fair Board made concerning the removal of the Floral Hall and replacing it with a new building. While it was a difficult decision, it was made in the best interest of the fair. Since then there’s been a new development in our plan. After hearing of our decision, a very generous donor has come forward and offered to fund the new building. This will now allow us the time and money to work on restoring the Floral Hall. This will be an ongoing project over a period of time but the end results will be the best of both worlds. It has been something we wanted all along but unable to finance both projects. There’s not enough words to express how much this means to the Mercer County Fair Board. It’s a win-win situation for everyone. Not only will we have a new building to be used and appreciated by the community but also be able to save our historic building that’s near and dear to all of us. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to our donor and the many sponsors for their support. As we proceed, if anyone would like to contribute to the Floral Hall Restoration Project you may contact any Fair Board member. No contribution is too small. Mercer County and the surrounding communities are the best!

Aledo, IL - Miguel's Grill & Bar will officially open in 4 days!

Miguel’s Grill and Bar will officially open for business on January 16th, 2023 in the former Los Charros location. In a statement seen below Miguel’s Grill and Bar will be serving authentic Mexican food and retaining most of the former Los Charros employees.
