Update to Homicide Investigation-Subjects Identified

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the subjects killed in the home invasion that occurred on October 23, 2021 along the 6500 block of Brookstone Lane.

Hunter Markham (Bi-Racial/M 19 years of age) of the 7800 block of Adrian Drive was pronounced deceased on scene. His next of kin has been notified.

The other subject was a 17 years of age juvenile and his information will not be released due to his age. He was also pronounced deceased on scene. His next of kin has been notified.

The third subject that was shot was a resident of the house. He was treated and released from Cape Fear Valley hospital last night.

Update to Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim that was shot on December 20th, along the 900 block of Willow Street.

The victim has been identified as Sarah Lewis (W/F, 34 years of age) of the 900 block of Willow Street in Fayetteville. Her next of kin has been notified. S. Lewis, along with her unborn child, have succumbed to injuries sustained during the shooting.

The male subject has been identified as Keith Lewis (W/M, 31 years of age) of the 900 block of Willow Street in Fayetteville. His next of kin has been notified. K. Lewis was pronounced deceased on scene and appears to have succumbed to injuries sustained from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

There was another juvenile on scene at the time of the incident that was not injured. The child has been placed with other family members.

The shooting was the result of a domestic disturbance between both parties.

Update to Traffic Fatality-Drivers Identified

(Fayetteville, NC) – Investigators with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic unit have identified the drivers of the vehicles involved in the traffic crash that resulted in a fatality earlier today along Hay Street.

Martika Roper (B/F, 30 years of age), of the 200 block of Davis Street, was operating a white Chevrolet sedan on Hay Street. Passengers in her vehicle were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Marvin Sykes Jr (W/M, 90 years of age), of the 3100 block of Marklett Drive in Eastover, was operating a silver Dodge van on Robeson Street. Sykes was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

(Fayetteville, NC) – Monday, October 19, 2020, Fayetteville’s Fire Investigation Team continues to investigate the fatal fire that occurred on October 16, 2020 at 7534 Decatur Drive.
7534 Decatur Drive Occupants:
· Odell Bethea – age 34
· Racquel McKoy – age 36
Racquel McKoy succumbed to her injuries while on scene. Odell Bethea was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and subsequently to North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center, where he is being treating for serious injuries.
Smoke alarms were found in the home but did not appear to have been in working condition at the time of fire.
Fire Investigation
· The area of origin was determined to be in the kitchen area of the residence and is still an active investigation.

Update to Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victims, and arrested a suspect, in the shooting investigation that occurred on October 16th along the 300 block of Gillespie Street.

Victim, Darrion Tyler (B/M, 18 years of age) of the 1200 block of Chilton Drive, was shot multiple times, and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His next of kin has been notified.

Victim, Jocephus Jones III (B/M, 18 years of age) of the 4700 block of Hickory Ridge Road in Parkton, received non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the hospital.

Victim, Destiny Bradford (B/F, 22 years of age), unknown address, also received non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the hospital.
