Coach Damon West will be serving in the capacity of Head Boy’s Basketball Coach. He brings an in depth knowledge of the game through his experiences of success. Coach West brings with him a record of 256-71, two state championships, and some Coach of The Year awards from different publications over the years.

Coach Damon West’s coaching style promotes hard work and individual accountability, which we know will benefit our student athletes tremendously and help to uphold the framework that has been laid in Rebel Basketball over the years.

1932 Negro World Series. The Monroe Monarchs won the pennant in the Southern League. They played the winners of the pennant in the National League, the Pittsburgh Crawfords, in the Negro World Series. The owner of the team, white drilling company owner, J.C.Stovall, built a fine ballpark with an adjoining swimming pool and dance pavilion for the city’s black population. He built a strong baseball club also. Their stadium was equal to most good minor league fields of that time. The team was written about in the book, “Only The Ball Was White”, by Robert Peterson.

The rodeo is designed to test the locating skills of the best of the best and the overall cash prize it $1000. The Louisiana rodeo followed the International Locate Rodeo format developed many years ago and was specifically developed to promote locating and damage prevention best practices, to recognize underground utility locators for superior performance and restore the pride and profession of underground utility locating in Louisiana.
