A holiday classic.
Back in 09, I was in a NYC cab when a commercial for the “Grinch” on Broadway came on in the backseat TV and inspired me to ask @seandabarbarian to record a holiday song.
In true Grinch fashion at first Sean was not with the idea, stalling the project for several seasons. In an act to motivate him I went to producer @khrysis_ and asked him to make the beat while i worked on convincing Sean.
I came back to Sean with the beat, he liked it but two more Christmases went by; no luck. Then I told him a website was willing to pay for the visual, that technically was us. 😎 Reluctantly Sean agreed to do it. He says in the verse ‘I hate spitting this’ and I know he was screaming that at me. 😂 🖕
The inspiration was easy, he was the Grinch and knew it would be on brand. He killed it as did @kimsonian who created and animated the video. I told Sean be miserable, steal Christmas. Be YOU. To play this today I still smile.
Happy Holidays. 🎄🎅🏽🕎 riP!

#TBT Sean Price was set to drop his Mic Tyson album on October 30, 2012, when Hurricane Sandy stormed into town 1 day prior. NYC shutdown from power outages, closed offices & retail stores which made releasing the album a challenge. Sean found a way to create promo from the situation and spread a little humor during what was a tough time for many. Heard that in the South if Waffle House closes it’s a barometer for how bad the storm will be, in Sean’s case he used Kennedy Fried 🐔 on Saratoga as his guideline. Hope everyone is safe and dealing w/ Milton & Helene as best as possible. riP!
