Hey, if I were incorrect, I'd issue an apology.

Maybe 527 started out as an elevator bill... I don't know. Hell, I know the ABC bill started as 490. I can't explain why this is working like it is.

I know that the current document attached to 527 had the title pertaining to ABC and the title on the bill page says ABC. I know that the document, front to back to 527 says it pertains to alcohol. I also know that if you google SB527, you'll see the same thing I do.

If you're mad and try to call me out for sharing false information, watch this video. Then, get mad at the proper people. Be mad that our state is finding it necessary to legislate ABC allocated items. Then, be mad at those same people for obviously putting out information that makes it seem like they're trying to hide what they're doing.

If you're still mad at me, you'll get glad in the same shoes you got mad in.

This is pretty big news.

While we advise reading the entire bill, this portion is specifically of concern. Senate Bill 490 is sponsored by NC Senator Todd Johnson. If you look at 18B-210 (c), you will see where they want to restrict you to purchasing allocated liquors in your own county. Live in a dry county? Tough luck. Can’t buy your favorite allocated bourbons, anymore. No Buffaloes, no Eagles… None. Oh, and if you do happen to be able to buy it, they want to track you by putting your name on a list. A list! For buying liquor!

Along with Senator Johnson, the others tagged below are listed as sponsors of the bill.

If you’re not wanting your rights curtailed, you’d better start talking to your local representatives. That includes Senator Brent Jackson (who recently put some legislation through due to some of his personal interests SB 762, SL 2022-55).

These are the kinds of actions I’d expect from Democrats. Not “Republicans” who supposedly do things to lessen government reach.
