Hey Bay Area Creatives!!
As most of the world is shutting down due to self isolations and quarantine, we would like to extend an offer to anyone interested in participating in the Quarantine International Film Festival

10 Short films from around the globe will be selected to be uploaded to the QIFF Youtube Channel and promoted on social media. This is a "for fun" festival as a way to help people feel creatively fulfilled during isolation caused by COVID-19.

All Selected films and filmmakers will receive:
-Our official selection Laurel
-Promotion on all of the QIFF Social media Pages (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
-Uploaded onto our Youtube Channel on April 8th and added to our playlist

Have fun, and create! That's what is most Important!

Our rules are simple, but we ask people to take into consideration the events unfolding around them, and to obey all city and country bylaws and precautions. If it is recommended in your area to be isolated, film something at home with your smartphone or a we**am. If your area isn’t under these conditions, then make it with a few friends. Safety is key though, and we will be judging each submission based on how creative they were given their circumstances (So don’t worry about gathering a crew).

QIFF 2020 SPECIFICATIONS
Quarantine Intl Film Fest 2020 would like to thank you for your interest in our online film festival! This festival is low stakes, as in it's free for you and for us! Yay! To qualify you need to make a film using the resources around you (safely) and submit to us anytime before April 1st to be featured on our page and YouTube channel. We will tag the sh*t out of you and your team!

RULES
1. THEME : 'BEAR' OR 'BARE' - up to your interpretation. This is a prompt, you do not need to say the word in the film if you do not wish. And please no animal cruelty! (Obviously)

2. MUST BE 5 MIN OR UNDER

3. MUST INCLUDE A 30 SECOND (max) TRAILER FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

4. IF REPOSTED OR SHARED YOU MUST CREDIT (we will even make you a dumb laurel) 🤠
5. MUST BE PG-13 (no nudity, excessive swearing or violence)

6. ANY GENRE OR STYLE ACCEPTED (animation, short live action, documentary, experimental)

7. FILM WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT! (Smart phone, we**am, DSLR, etc…) and use what you can! (Could be you by yourself, could be you and some friends, but be safe and do what is best for your situation).

8. Submissions open March 16th, 2020 and April 1st at 11:59pm is the DEADLINE, and submissions are FREE! We just want to see what you do!

9. Selected filmmakers will be notified by April 7th, 2020, and uploaded on April, 8th, 2020.

Well, Netflix likely has the traditional studios shaking in their boots --they did make the best movie of the century--Roma.
They are a righteous force in the industry -- I do wonder about the whole means of production, means of distribution
and means of display in the anti-trust vein.

"Green Book" won Best Picture over "Roma," but a prevailing theory suggests it had everything to do with industry fears over Netflix.
