THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN,
SEN ABDULLAHI ADAMU,
APC SECRETARIAT
BLANTYRE STREET
WUSE 2, ABUJA.
Sir,
URGENT INTERVENTION IN THE ILLEGAL PROCESS OF THE DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION IN KOGI STATE
The above letter subject refer:
We, concerned APC members in Kogi State, are writing to you today to draw your attention to the ongoing election sabotage, bribery of electoral officers by Yahaya Bello, voter intimidation, and threats in the Kogi State gubernatorial election.
We strongly demand that you take immediate action to recall the Bello Matawalle-led electoral officers of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who have reportedly collected Three Billion Naira to subvert the legitimate process of a free and fair election.
There are troubling reports about the APC Direct Primary elections scheduled to hold today. It has come to our attention that just a few hours before the electoral process was scheduled to commence, the Chairman of the election, Bello Matawalle, the Governor of Zamfara State, and KOGI STATE Governor Yahya Bello held a meeting with few stakeholders. It was in this stakeholders' meeting that he endorsed Ododo Usman, the Auditor-General of Local Government in Kogi State, to succeed the outgoing Governor.
This unholy alliance was done in order to conceal financial recklessness and impropriety of the Kogi State Government. For several and a half years in the whole 21 Local Government in Kogi state since Yahaya Bello’s rule in Kogi State, no funds have been released to the twenty-one Local Governments of the state. For either capital development or recurrent expenditure for staff Salaries: Salaries have been owed, pensions still remain unpaid, and the people have remained indigent.
