à La Mort Magazine by Mort Productions, is a photographic heavy variety magazine. In essence, it is an art magazine featuring local talent (artists, photogs, painters, make up artists, models, dancers, performance artists, designers, etc) and local event coverage. It is all brought to life with vivid, high quality photography. Currently seeking talent, guests writers, and photographers to be featu
red in upcoming issues. Ad space is also available for local businesses with half or full page options! First of all because my Production company is Mort Productions which was yes choosen based on my last name. It seemed from a branding standpoint for my production company to release the magazine under a similar name. I also like it because to me it's a play on "à la mode" which means "in the fashion" (or oddly enough with "ice cream on top" depending on what kind of diner you're in). So finally à La Mort. What does it mean? Basically it means "Terminally ill" Mort is the French word for Death. However, I prefer to go with it's literal translation. Origin of à la mort Expand

To me it means "People who are passionate to the death". The individual you see interviewed on TV saying "I'll be doing this job until I die" the ones that you can't even talk to at a party without them bringing up their passion. That's what the magazine is about and the audience it caters to.

By the end of this week we'll have 2 magazines published for the May/June time. First sneaking in JUST in time to be shipped for our table for Phoenix Comicon is our, nearly, all Cosplay edition! Excited about all the positive feedback and response we're getting from March's issue! March Preview: One of the features I want to have is an "Undiscovered Talent" or "up and coming" article. For March we're rolling this out with Lucky Diamond Cosplay. She is currently a student at The UofA. To read more about her (and see more photos) check out the March issue!

Confirmed for the March issue!: All Is Vanity Expressions
Kay aka Ember Brennen Sparks will be be one of two stylists giving us a glimpse into the life of a make up and hair stylists for march! Kay is a very talented make up artist that does both traditional and cosplay makeup as well wig styling and design.

Starting to work on an outline for March's issue! If anyone would like to be a guest writer for an article or a photographer let me know.
Cosplayer Spotlight is one feature I know for sure I want to feature in every issue. Amber was the spotlight for Jan taking suggestions for March.
I'm taking suggestions for future articles and interested in talking to local talent they must be able to get to Tempe for a studio shoot before the article launches, as it's primarily a photographic magazine so articles with an artistic/fashion element are going to get precedent.

I have just launched/published a new magazine titled A La Mort.

I'm very very excited about this project! It's aim and goal is to be a photo heavy variety magazine featuring local talent. It's an idea I've had for a while now and has morphed and taken shape over time. I realized I meet a lot of incredible people through my photography and giving them a means and platform where they can become part of a periodical print publication might be a huge boost.
I plan on doing quarterly issues and have some great ideas lined up for March already. It's my hope in future magazines they will be more content and article heavy with interviews and stories. I'd be happy to include guests writers and photographers. I'd also be happy to discuss the inclusion of ad space for anyone who may want to put out a print ad.
This issue features photos and listing of local Arizona talent. We feature gifted fashion designers, pageant winners, cosplayers and belly dancers in this issue featuring photography by www.mortproductions.com
