The East Tennessee Storm Team exists to provide accurate weather forecasts and to provide up to the minute severe weather coverage. We do this to keep you ahead of the storm. This means we are committed to help keep you safe when severe weather threatens. We were founded in April 2011 by Jeremy Buckles and Josh Marler on the heels of the historic tornado outbreak that tore through Mississippi, Ala
bama, Georgia, and East Tennessee. We are composed of 3 team members with Chief Meteorologist Bob Becker, Meteorologist Jeremy Buckles, and CEO Steven Burgess. When it comes to weather, experience matters; and we provide that experience that you can trust when it matters most. We have been featured on WBIR-TV 10 and WATE-TV 6 in Knoxville. We are the Official Weather Forecasters of the Knoxville Daily Sun, Image Builders Internet Marketing Experts, and the Knox Focus. STAFF:
Bob Becker is our Chief Meteorologist. Bob is from Monroe, N.Y. He is a graduate of State University College in Oswego, NY and Orange County Community College in Middletown, NY. Becker is also Treasurer of the Smoky Mountains Chapter of the American Meteorological Society. Bob has been a TV Meteorologist since 1980, working at WUTR-TV (Utica, NY), WDEF -TV (Chattanooga, TN), WLOS-TV (Asheville, NC), KJAC-TV (Port Arthur, TX), KBMT-TV (Port Arthur, TX), And WICU-TV (Erie,PA). Most Recently Bob served East Tennessee as the Weekend Meteorologist for WATE-TV/DT Channel 6 in Knoxville, Bob was there for 13 Years. Jeremy Buckles is a Meteorologist on our team. Jeremy has a B.S. Meteorology with High Honors from Mississippi State University and is currently a graduate student with Mississippi State. Jeremy also has studies in math and engineering from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Moreover, he possesses an Undergraduate Certificate in Weather Forecasting from The Pennsylvania State University. As a child, Jeremy first became interested in weather in 1993 when his hometown of Lenoir City was struck by an F-3 tornado and a subsequent blizzard only three weeks later. Since then, Jeremy has had a fascination and interest in meteorology that has led him to be a "Weather Watcher" for WATE-TV 6 (ABC), a certified SKYWARN storm spotter, and a member of both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association. Steven Burgess is our CEO and business manager. Steven is a graduate of Black Hawk College, State University of New York, and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Steven comes to the team after successful tenures with Goody's Family Clothing as the Director of Product Development in Juniors apparel, Director of Product Development at Mast Industries, and Senior Production Manager at Gap. Steven is currently involved in an executive role with two other businesses as well. In his spare time, Steven is involved with the Business Network International group, Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club, as well as several other organizations. FIELD TEAM:

MEDIA RECOGNITION:
On June 22nd 2011, Jeremy caught video from his home of an EF-0 tornado in Northern Roane County. Both Jeremy and Josh went out and surveyed the damage and went to the National Weather Service Office in Morristown, TN where it was determined to be an EF-0 tornado. The video was featured on WATE-TV and WBIR-TV.
