A moving love story set against the turmoil of war.

Writing A Farewell to Arms, Hemingway drew inspiration from his own war experiences. In this captivating, semi-autobiographical prose written in a spare style, he captures the harsh realities of war, its senselessness and mindless cruelty, as well as the suffering of lovers trapped in the grip of forces greater than individual desires. His portrayal of the main character reflects the loneliness and disillusionment of the "lost generation" – people who entered adulthood during World War I.

All Quiet on the Western Front" is one of the most significant literary works of the 20th century. Its characters, like the author himself, belong to the "lost generation" - a generation whose youth was lost in the trenches of World War I.

Eighteen and nineteen-year-olds arrive at the front almost directly from school, encouraged by their teachers to fulfill their duty to the fatherland. Yet they question what this duty means, aware they're shooting at young enemies just like themselves, who similarly long for home and peace and question the war's purpose.

Fungi from Yuggoth #1 The Book, by H.P. Lovecraft A sonnet created by H.P. Lovecraft, which is a part of the series "Fungi from Yuggoth". Probably the largest poetic endeavor by Lovecraft, created in just over a week. Lovecraft had been shaping a vision of a new poetic medium since the second half of the 1920s, which stood in opposition to his beloved English 18th-century poetry. Some time had to pass before he started to realize this vision. The impulse to embody his visions in literary form was given to him by editing Maurice W. Moe's poetry textbook.

A short poem by Howard Phillips Lovecraft, dedicated to Bertrand K. Hart. This piece of Lovecraftian poetry is often considered an integral part of Cthulhu Mythos, because of Elder Sign references.
