I cried today😢
Like real tears😭
It was ugly to... The kind where you gotta go off by yourself cuz you don't want anyone to catch you slipn 😅
~
This usually doesn't happen,
at least not like that,
but I had a conversation with a 10 year old that crushed me.
~
The beautiful mother of this amazing child is currently going thru a particularly rough season of struggle, but is doing all she can for the sake of her kids.
~
During my conversation with the child I asked how they were handling everything... This little blessing told me that sometimes they get scared and don't understand why they're experiencing this... But when they start to feel afraid... They pray
~
They pray that God blesses their Mom with the strength and money to provide for the house and they know that God will take care of them.
~
Tore me up. It took everything not to drop tears before we finished the convo.
~
It hit me so hard because it took me back to my childhood. I remember times when I prayed asking God to help my family get thru our struggles.
~
It hurts me to know that is a daily reality for kids that surround us.
But it also inspires me to do what I can to change it.
~
If you can relate to any of this or just love to see positive expressions from the youth... Join us June 1st at for where we will be coming together to celebrate the art created by community youth.🙏🏾
