2021 was a lot like this wave. Thought it was gonna be way smaller and easier. Went anyway. Shoulda pulled in. Didn’t die. All in all it was a year of awesome work opportunities, planting of seeds to come, more family time than I’ve had since age, 8 and a lot of learning, healing, connection, Ups , downs, innappropriate jokes, a few failures some great successes, and most of all more inappropriate jokes and love. Thanks to all of you for being in my life— whether I know you from the coffee shop, the podcast, from surfing, work, You are just related to me or an actual friend.
My CURRENCY is COMMUNITY and I’m grateful for you all. Here’s to a fresh start tomorrow.
Debating on what sexy dress to wear for that office Christmas party? Well you can’t go wrong showing up like this .
When your momma asks you to come do an ice bath, just say yes! 🥶I was a little distracted by the paparazzi but she did 3 minutes and had a great time. #bonding at an ice bath rather than the nail salon. @drlouisestanger
Who won the 100 meter sprint at altitude? Johnny or Me. Also this track is the most amazing track I’ve ever been on. 🏔⛰🏃🏻♀️🏃

Today’s adventure: mountain biking. Have I ever ridden a mountain bike? Once in 1999. Johnny thought it was a great idea to just take the gondola to the top and ride down. Somehow we both made it down alive. Highly recommend downhill mountain biking. 🚵🏽🌲☀️
Summer of Jumping!
#jumprock thanks for the📸@wheatandwater and the tip @peterbilt72
Do scary things (safely). Thanks to Junior lifeguard And future podcast star Hudson for letting me jump with him and his rad mom @solsessions and friend off the Ob pier. This was last week but somehow I accidentally deleted. 🤭🏄🏽♂️❤️
I’ve always believed when you conquer your fears in the wild, it will give you the courage to conquer the ones in your daily life. Case in point: I jumped off the pier with these rad humans yesterday to support the Prevent Drowning Foundation, and because pier jumping is scary and fun as heck. My buddy Junior Lifeguard Friend and future podcast star Hudson let me tag along with him, his mom and friend. Afterwards, I felt compelled to share something that moments prior I would’ve been scared to do (see previous post).
.
Adventure really is life’s antidote. I encourage you to do something wild (safely) out in nature, as often as you can. Jump in feet first!
Today’s last Vitamin Joy podcast of the season is about comedy and mental health with @JohnMoe. John is a comedian, author and podcast host of Depresh Mode @Depreshpod and The Hilarious World of Depression. When I started Vitamin Joy Podcast, I was looking for someone like John Moe from the beginning. Humor, and laughter is one of the biggest things that have helped me unstuck myself whenever I have been scared, sad or anxious. We NEED laughter. It’s my main Vitamin Joy. This podcast is one of my all-time favorites and John was a gem to speak with. Listen wherever you get your podcast fix, and make some time for laughter, however you get it.☀️😀🙃🎧
It’s SUMMERTIME. Get it! ☀️🌈🏄🏻♀️🌊
Do you sing in the shower? Dance around your house? Gargle with mouthwash? All these things activate your VAGUS NERVE. And this is a good thing, because, if you have dealt with any trauma – like dealing with last year, activating our vagus nerve in this way can helps us regulate our nervous system. Best of all these things are free, with zero negative side-effects and they make us feel better immediately. I LOVED talking with Nicole Le Pera, @the.holistic.psychologist on Vitamin Joy podcast because she shares so many gems of wisdom about HEALING ourselves -- from things like activating our vagus nerve, and so much more . Listen wherever you get your podcast fix. Just type in “Vitamin Joy.”
I recently interviewed journalist/author @ChrisColin3000 for Vitamin Joy Podcast about what would happen if the Internet died. It’s a fantastical notion he recently explored in his new illustrated kid’s book for adults, Off: The Day the Internet Died: A Bedtime Fantasy.
On the episode, we talk about the joy of writing a kid’s book for adults, how joyful it is to go offline, how you can do it without going cold turkey, and the benefits of an analog world. Just like Chris’s book, this episode is short and sweet, and funny! His website is TIMETOGETOFF.com. I hope his makes tee-shirts with this domain! Let me know what you are doing to go offline today. I will be going to the jungles of Costa Rica and turning off all electronics very soon…
FOCUS. It’s not a trait that come super easy to me. Which why I’m so stoked my buddy @weinsjes who works at this rad new company @fxchocolate sent me dark squares of KETO- friendly, VEGAN, SUGAR-FREE dark CHOCOLATE packed with nutraceutical ingredients like Ashwagandha, which is just fun to say. Bonus: I feel greater focus with it and taking vitamins in chocolate is a great way to take vitamins. Even bigger bonus: these guys have been supporting Vitamin Joy Podcast since day one and they are giving 20% off your first order at FXchocolate.com Just enter code “vitaminjoy” at checkout. Also, Johnny keeps stealing them. Tell him to stop, please!
