Taylor Swift’s newest album, Folklore, came out and all Harlee and I could talk about was her creative process, the authenticity in this album, and how it inspires us as artists. *And also just how pretty the lyrics are*⁠

Welcome to with Harlee! Are you familiar with the exposure triangle? It’s the relationship between the 3 main settings you will need to toggle on your camera.

Shutter speed is how long your shutter is open for. Aperture (or F stop) is how wide it opens and controls the depth of the photo. ISO is how much noise (the graininess) is in the photo (the higher the number, the brighter the photo but also the more noise).

The way that I shoot is that I set my aperture first- i usually want the most shallow depth of field possible so that my single subject and ONLY my subject is in focus. Depending on your lens, it’ll probably be 2.8 or 4.0.

Then i set my ISO. I almost always have it set at 400 or 800 for indoor photos. 800 is the highest my camera can do without the grain being too much. Your camera might be different.

I do my shutter speed last. I want it as fast as it can be while still letting in enough light .
