Oppression wouldn't fight itself, suppression wouldn't and neither will slavery.
We have to put in a conscious effort to end them.
Decolonisation is a gradual process, but it's achievable.

The Igbo Traditional Marriage Ceremony

The bride is adorned with beads to look her most beautiful, why not? when its a special day ☺️

She comes out with three different outfits.

The first is to welcome the in-laws.

The second is to sell eggs, eggs symbolise fertility, and people from both families put money into the bowl of the eggs before taking an egg.

The final outfit is worn to serve wine to her husband. After this he puts some money into the cup, they both go to her father where they kneel for blessings from her father.

The Igbo traditional marriage is known as "Igbankwu " which translates to wine carrying.
The groom and his family is required to bring lots of palm wine. This wine is substituted for other drinks currently, but the wine served to the groom has to be palm wine.

This unique practice is common to the BANNA tribe in Ethiopia, where young men walk on sticks.
Although rumoured to be a form of protection from wild animals attack, it's become more of a fun act and garners tourist who desire to explore the custom first hand.
