Ah, it's a classic episode of Tennessee Jim's Full Gallop Radio Show this week! You'll enjoy it. Noon and 9 pm Central Time today on TruckersRadioUSA.com.

Hi, this is Jim’s wife Martha. We have a classic episode of Tennessee Jim this week, and it sure stirs some memories for me. Two of them have to do with our dear friend and business partner Rex Allen Jr. Jim and Rex became close over the years as they worked on two great albums (“New West” and “Other Voices”), and also performed together around the country and the world. Jim was a Jr. himself. His father was well known musically in the world of barbershop harmonies, so he was sensitive to the special spotlight that he knew was on Rex’s shoulders. He wanted to do anything he could to help Rex celebrate his father’s legacy, as well as help enhance Rex’s own unique musical sound.
This week Jim kicks off with a live recording of Rex’s original song, “Can You Hear Those Pioneers”… and in the second part of the show he features a cut from “Rex Allen: America’s Last Singing Cowboy”. This was a CD Rex Jr produced in Nashville, using lost recordings of his father. He invited Jim to fly in to help with the session, and that was a huge honor and delight for Jim.
Another dear friend on this show is Juni Fisher, one of the most talented women in Western Music. She immerses herself in history and tells the most incredible musical stories. (In fact, she’s also a talented novelist.) “Yakima” was so compelling that it won “Song of the Year” from the International Western Music Association. It’s a true life tale that you won’t forget. We loved it.
Finally, Jim ends the show with the Diamond W Wranglers special version of “Happy Trails”. If you've ever attended a live show of the Diamond W, you know that lead singer Stu Stuart has a dry sense of humor. We’ve captured it here! Also, Stu, Jim and Chip Worthington all took solos in the song… the only time that ever happened. (Chip does some world class whistling, too.) Hope you enjoy the show this week! Here’s the playlist, and showtimes are below:
Can You Hear Those Pioneers - Rex Allen Jr
Yodel Boogie - Wylie & the Wild West
God Must Be a Cowboy - Dan Seals
Real Thing - Baxter Black (story)
He's a Cowboy - Joey + Rory
Cowboy - Jimmy Wakely
My Poncho Pony - Patsy Montana
The Trail of the Lonesome Pine - Rex Allen Sr.
Your Red Wagon - Asleep at the Wheel
Mr. Shorty - Marty Robbins
Child of the Desert - Dave Stamey
Yakima - Juni Fisher
Wherever I Roam - Gary Allegretto
Happy Trails - Diamond W Wranglers
You can listen to Full Gallop on www.TruckersRadioUSA.com or search for Truckers Radio USA on your Tune In Radio app. Showtimes this weekend are Saturday at noon and 9 pm; Sunday at 1 am, 8:30 am, 3 pm and 7 pm. 💕

We’re all about the music.

Welcome to Truckers Radio USA! TRUSA is an internet radio station with fans all over the world. We all have one thing in common: a love for traditional country music. The music may be thirty or forty years old; it may have been released recently... but it’s produced in the spirit and style that made country music an indelible part of America’s soul.

Four good friends living in Tyler, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, and Wichita, Kansas came together to create Truckers Radio USA. TRUSA was founded by the late Ron Tyler, a former trucker and lifelong DJ whose heart was still on the highways of America. Ron assembled a fantastic collection of traditional country music that had long been thrown away by “country” radio stations. He knew that this is the kind of music that truckers want to listen to, and he wanted to create a radio home for the trucking family.

But you don’t have to be a trucker to love traditional country music and frankly, there are not many places you can hear this music anymore. That’s what inspired country music icon Rex Allen Jr. to join Ron and lend his creds in the music business. Rex in turn pulled Jim and Martha Farrell into the mix. Jim is a Nashville born performer and recording engineer now living in the Wichita Kansas area, and Martha grew up in the radio business. So together this group is carrying on Ron’s vision: creating a musical haven for great traditional country music, western and western swing, bluegrass, and gospel.

TRUSA is also very proud to partner with the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) in presenting “Land Line Now”: an award-winning daily news magazine for truckers. “Land Line Now” is fascinating and timely news, whether or not you’re a trucker. Listen at 11 pm nightly, and at 7 am Mon-Sat, 6:30 am on Sunday (Central Time).
