Up close and wide at the Oculus in downtown Manhattan.⁣
⁣
Symbolizing the light that continues to shine through after the darkness of the tragedy, the Oculus opening allows light to fill the massive space as a 9/11 memorial.⁣
⁣
At 800,000 square feet, this space features a mezzanine, retail space, and access to the four underground platforms of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, a terminal on the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) system. ⁣
⁣
The Oculus was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. His intentions were for it to resemble a dove leaving a child's hands.⁣

I had a chance to visit Belfast this past weekend. It was a beautiful and quaint city. Besides the Irish pubs, I got to experience the size of the Titanic and the location of its birthplace. ⁣

Our trip to London ended with a drive to Brighton, south of London. The cliffs, also known as The Seven Sisters, are a series of chalk cliffs by the English Channel. They are formed between the towns of Seaford and Eastbourne in southern England. It was very windy!

Construction of the Tower Bridge started in 1886, took 8 years to build and employed 432 construction workers. 125 years later, it still stands as one of the major landmarks in London. It’s a beautiful and busy bridge with so much history behind it.
