Our brains are wired for shortcuts. Actively going against them takes mental discipline. And sometimes we're running short on give-a-f**k fuel. ⛽
It’s kinda like the famous marshmallow experiment with kids, where they could take one 🍬 marshmellow now, or wait a few minutes for a bigger reward 🍬🍬. Most of us pick the quick reward. Skipping gear feels easy now, but the road always collects the debt later, and the rent is due at the start of every motorcycle ride.
