NYC MOTORCYCLE CULTURE exclusive by x 🔬 link in bio

A photo documentary by Brian Pak-Hung Lau, an aspiring fashion photographer based in New York City, who started a personal photo project documenting the NYC motorcycle culture and scene. It is a project that began a year ago and he is still continuing.

It all began in his job working in the studio of his employer, Arthur Elgort, a fashion photographer, who happened to have photographed many subcultures. Elgort, Kurt Markus and Danny Lyon’s works very much influenced him to work on a photo project on the subculture of motorcycles, due to his fondness of the subject from a young age.

”I dedicated more than a year documenting every aspect of the culture, including the gatherings, the wrenchings, the camaraderie, the rides, and the wild side. Motorcycles are often viewed as a counterculture. The subjects I photograph are indeed quite rambunctious but in my photos, I aim to show a more humanized side of this culture.”

This pyjama party is a throwback to the 90’s, and an ode to male happiness and cheekiness. Growing up, signs of being giggly and overtly joyous were reflected back to me as something to be ashamed of, something that went against my identity as a boy and a man- to-be. I wanted to use pride month as a means to show all the joy and light there is in being q***r, and show men of all orientations to show their emotions of joy in a childish way.

The series tells the story of a group of friends plunging back into their youthful days and living out as adults what they wish they could have experienced fully as children. Being silly, having a go at each other and getting annoyed or bored as well; all of the things young boys should explore without restraint or pressure to act or be a certain way. The makeup is deliberately simple and uneven, like how children would do it on themselves and each other for fun. Then plastering themselves with stickers as a means to integrate the cuteness they evoke into themselves.

In February of this year, Anna Zhang exhibited her latest collection titled “A Letter to the Underworld” in New York.

The exhibition was jointly organized by ANNA Z and the New York creative agency DUN DUN Agency, and took place in New York SOHO, for a duration of five days. The exhibition not only featured the highly acclaimed knitwear pieces from ANNA.Z., but also showcased Anna’s design “sketches” for the first time. The exhibits included interactive films, 3D modeling sculptures, and other contemporary art forms, providing guests with an immersive experience while narrating the fascinating brand story behind the exquisite designer pieces

Bastiano è il nome del progetto con cui Luca Bastianello si lascia alle spalle un lungo percorso da bassista per dedicarsi alla chitarra acustica. La scrittura dei primi brani trova casa nell'EP dal titolo "Stesi sull'asfalto" accompagnati da una serie di live per farli conoscere.

Il cantautore vicentino colleziona immagini attraverso il tempo che scorre, alla ricerca di un legame tra parole e melodia pubblicando prima "Stampalia" accompagnata dal suo videoclip e poi "Panda", singoli che anticipano l'uscita ad Ottobre di un nuovo disco.

Coming from the architectural industry, Andrea and Sam think the user’s experience is the most crucial part among all designs – from large-scale buildings to small-scale accessories. Through the accessories created, we aim to challenge the definition of wearability, and enhance the user’s experience beyond accessorizing outfits.Taking advantage of our knowledge in 3D modeling, we adopt goldsmithing as a methodology in production. With injection of technology, our design philosophy is to prove that technology impacts culture – positively.

Amazing x glass art 👁️

Sibelle Yüksek aka Sibelley has made a name for herself in the flameworking and functional glass worlds through the creation of what she refers to as “little women.” After focusing primarily on nudes, she shifted her energies into making video game and anime characters outfitted with accessories and garments.

Considering the sculptural nature of her art, it’s not surprising that Sibelley majored in illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, with the goal of working in fashion. But she fell in love with glass in an elective casting course and decided to double major in glass studies – an artform that would come in handy for sculptural installations and jewelry making.

Moving to Los Angeles, California, in 2014, Sibelley set up a torch in an ill-advised bedroom studio, where she made jewelry until landing a gig at Neptune Glassworks. There, she learned how to make vessels and glassware while experimenting with smokables on the side. The artist credits 2 Stroke with her move into functional glass. While assisting him at his AGE show, he pointed out the many benefits of transitioning into the pipe scene.

Most of Sibelley’s work is marketed through her Instagram, where she has built a growing following. The artist is still trying to figure out where her pieces fit in to the pipe scene and the art world – should they be found in head shops and smoke shops, or interior design settings? Should they be functional or sculptural?

.moura presents the Spring/Summer 2023 collection campaign, with the model Helena Barbosa and the rapper Lon3r J***y.

The creator's atelier challenged the Municipality of Mértola and traveled to Mina São Domingos, in the municipality of Mértola, district of Beja, in Portugal.
The Mina São Domingos is located in the Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPF), world renowned for its richness in massive volcanic sulphides, commonly known as pyrites.

With a focus on technology, shape-engineering and avant-garde draping methods, ‘s innovative techniques entice the exploration of shape and form to give purpose and authenticity to each garment. Ingenious cutting methods and unconventional material combinations exceed the limit of what expected eveningwear looks like, and feels like, to wear. The sculptural, elegant creations hold serendipitous sustainable advances.
Kate stands for local made-to-order and custom production, curating the finest materials and fabrics to create each product, and advocates for causes that will lead to positive change. She aspires to build a brand that gives back to organizations in need, fiercely advocates for awareness and really makes a change within her community.

Kate’s approach to her Fall/Winter 2023 Collection was experimental rather than referential. Building on the singular aesthetic she affirmed with her introductory collection, she delved into developmental fabric with innovative and sustainable manipulation methods to give her experiential creations perpetuity – expanding on her exploration of shape and form.

…BUT NO Fall-Winter 23/24

“Learn to say no is learn to gain freedom,” “If you’re not angry, it means that you don’t pay attention,” “If it’s not what it would be, then it’s what it should be,” “Anger is an energy.” These are the main concepts that have inspired us for this collection. The world is in danger, and Fashion can’t ignore the situation.

This time we’re a bit angrier; we want words to become facts: we’re reasonable and demand the impossible. We’re an independent brand and make a great effort, but we do it with enthusiasm and consciousness, supported by people who believe in us and share our values.

Punk ideologies

The collection is based on a strong punk ideology, in its original sense: nonconformism, the definition of one’s not aligned and unique identity, the distance from common places and escape from orthodoxy, provocation, and the system’s mockery. All of this is reflected on tailored clothes encrusted with silicone that cracks as if it’s worn, coats made from handmade blankets, knitwear that comes from leftover yarn swatches, white shirts with spray-painted Peter Pan collars, chandelier fragments that become blood drops.

“…But No” ‘s godfather is Jamie Red, anarchic artist and S*x Pistols’ art director, that has to donate us some clothes from his brand “Ragged Kingdom,” the fashion show’s closing pieces.

Our second collaboration is with knitwear designer Gaia Segattini + her brand Knotwear. Gaia, as well as a friend, is an upcycling Italian pioneer, always supporting independent brands and non-mainstream fashion.

Even in this fashion show, our casting features friends of different ages, gender, and physicality: they complete their outfits with their shoes and accessories, pointing out our authenticity and willingness, up to the point where an accident has become a part of our storytelling

Yu-Hsuan Chen (preferred name Stephanie) is a Taiwanese-born, New York-based designer focused on luxury, minimal womenswear. She holds a BFA Fashion Design degree from Pratt Institute and recently graduated with an MFA Fashion Design degree from Fashion Institute of Technology. Stephanie has worked closely with designers Narciso Rodriguez, Prabal Gurung, Sally LaPointe, Caron Callahan and Asher Levine. Her mother is the first woman who inspired her with the contrast of vulnerability and strength, informing her definition of empowering women.
