Breaking the deadlock of almost of a year The Tribal Reporter is again all set to continue its halted journey by its re launch this time. The revival of this web portal has been made possible only through our reader’s countless laudable demand for running it again and consistent support they rendered us from its inception. Even within its dormant period, the readers don’t stop visiting the site leaving comments .It is only because of our esteemed reader’s high responses which serves as a life blood of the site that The Tribal Reporter has been able to see the light of day once again.
The Tribal Reporter since its birth has been carving out a niche among North Eastern people by its wider coverage of issues pertaining to Tribal people of Northeast India in particular and India in general. The Objective nature of its reporting and subjective scrutiny of matters regarding crucial political, social, economical and historical issues of Tribal people is the prime reasons behind its high flow of its readers. Probably, this is the first web portal which name is been figured in the satellite channels headlines just after one month of its launch while doing a comprehensive first of its kind investigative story on women trafficking from North East to Delhi during the commonwealth games. As we proposed earlier we again reiterate our attempt to usher a new era of collective consciousness around the concerns of the tribal people which are often been considered to be unobtrusive in the public domain. Bringing down the curtains of ignorance and ambiguity on tribal culture, The Tribal Reporter will facilitate creation of a vibrant platform where tribal issues will be discussed and debated not categorized as an issues of secondary importance but as an issues of vital importance plaguing the nation. Substantiated with the experiences of one year, The Tribal Reporter is wearing a new look with its newly introduced promising features added to its wing. It is embarking on a novel initiative of documenting and publishing traditional folk tribal practices of entire North East India, currently in the realm of Tribal folktales and tribal medicines of indigenous tribes in association with folk culture research centre of North East India. The rich oral folk tribal tales of each tribe and traditional medical practice of the tribes of North East India where hardly any research work is been conducted will be documented and published accordingly in a first of its kind initiative.
Not only that, this time the role of The Tribal Reporter will not be restricted to a mere web portal, it will make its presence felt both online and offline by its foray into different organizational activities.TTR is going to be involved as an active partner in a host of events that are scheduled to be held in many a places across the country.
Be part of us in our mission of shedding light on their reality, their angst, their tears and their dreams .
Regards
