Six military officers, all of them medical doctors attached to the 34 Military Hospital were arrested and detained yesterday on allegations of mutiny. As at press time, it was not clear whether or not they had been released. Capt Dr Luseni, Capt. Dr Paul Nabieu, Lt Dr Sorie Conteh, Lt Dr Ngevao, 2nd Lt Dr Kanu and 2nd Lt Dr Songo-Mbriwa were arrested for reportedly threatening to leave the military if their wages were not brought in line with public doctors who recently received a 500% salary increase following a long-drawn-out strike action. Salone Train sold, still operational: It all began with an invitation to us from the Director of the British National Railway Museum, Steve Davies to visit the United Kingdom in April 2010. Steve Davies has pioneered the establishment of a Sierra Leone Railway Museum Supporters' Fund there. Chief Justice Umu Hawa Tejan Jalloh has adhered to the request of the defence team for the removal of the presiding Judge Nicholas Browne Marke in the seven count indictment against former Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister, Afsatu Kabba. Two Journalists: Abibatu Dora Kamara of Awoko Newspaper and Ibrahim Samura of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) were yesterday physically manhandled by some members of the Sierra Leone Police officers attached to Law Courts building.Ms. Kamara went to cover the court proceedings of former Marine and Fisheries Minister, Haja Afsatu Kabba who is facing seven counts charge of alleged corruption. Customers for the past five days have been finding it very difficult to recharge their meter or pay bills due to the persistent blackout at the National Power Authority's (NPA) headquarter office at Siaka Stevens street. For the past days, the continuous blackout in the office has got many customers very angry since they are coming from all parts of the city to recharge their meter or to pay bills, only for them to come and meet the office in black out.
