TECH040 — DJ Mag Review
In their latest review of TECH040, DJ Mag raises a fundamental question: does it make sense to conceptually package a compilation of music that already works so powerfully on its own? Our answer is both yes and no.
Conceived as a toolkit for commanding the dancefloor's attention, this release acts as a two-sided blade:
> For DJs, the title INTRO immediately signals what they are getting, addressing a genuine demand for specialized tools. While this need might not be widely articulated in the mass media, it made shaping the foundation for such a discussion all the more compelling for us.
>The other side of the blade is turned toward the dancefloor. For the audience eagerly awaiting their favorite festival headliner, the conceptual framing of the opening track becomes irrelevant — what matters is the impact of the moment the space is opened.
While our recent spotlights highlighted how veteran selectors view the art of the opening track, DJ Mag has now offered its own perspective.
