I've been quiet (I'll get to that later), but I can't believe it's finally happening, my final gig (touch wood because I've said that before and Covid screwed that up too 😅).

What better way to send off my performance career than to play Purple Hayes at Esoteric 2022 - Phantasia, in Melbourne, with a bunch of absolute weapons.

Want to perform on stage as a career? Today's video is an answer to the question I get a lot surrounding why I'm stopping playing my Purple Hayes and Like Liquid projects at gigs, clubs, festivals and events, when things seem to be going pretty damn well! Been a bit quiet on the posting here and I've no doubt missed a bunch of the music I've worked on being released (please feel free to tag me if that's the case as I love sharing!), but...

As times are changing and I've been thinking a lot about what role mastering plays within the production process for both small time to big time artists... 🤔

As all the streaming platforms are coming out with Lossless/Hi-Fi compatibility and most streaming platforms utilising loudness normalization (pretty inconsistently I might add), it appears to me as if, at least with electronic dance music, that the future of mastering will lead to 2 versions of each master being handed to the artist, whether requested or not. 🎚

1. For gigging that is competitively loud with the other mastering completed within that genre. 🤯

2. For streaming purposes, with -14dbLUFS and -1db true peak level. 🔊

And so, I will now be providing both upon request at no extra charge. 😘
