This year we’re donating to , an urban Indigenous women-led land trust based in the San Francisco Bay Area that facilitates the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people.

We’ve traveled so much this year that I had a hard time putting together a single land acknowledgment, so I wanted to share a resource I recently learned about: a map that outlines indigenous territories. It’s been incredibly educational throughout our cross country trips. Check it out at https://native-land.ca/ , and let me know what you learn about the land you reside in. Once you learn more, you can move beyond education to shifting resources, access, power, and land back to Indigenous people!

Billi is a female domestic shorthair, she's 14 years old, and her favorite word is mad. She has been using Augmentative Interspecies Communication (AIC) since May 2020, and now has 72 buttons! She is a FluentPet Guide, and a participant in the ongoing research out of UCSD’s Comparative Cognition Lab.

Her MADjesty’s Palanquin: A DIY Guide For A Cat Hiking Perch. There was so much interest about our little backpack contraption after the last video that I finally finished editing this video! I made these adjustments back in the spring of this year, but due to Billi’s illness over the summer didn’t get to use it much. Thankfully Billi is feeling great now and we can use it!Billi is an older girl, and while she still loves hiking she doesn’t want to walk as far. This was my compromise so she could be comfortable while we’re on longer adventures 🥰I plan to add some more support on the back of the bed in case of steep climbs, so I’ll update this video when that happens! When we arrived the afternoon before it was 103F (39C) and wayyyy to hit for poor little Billi! I used it as an opportunity to model hot, and told her it would be better the next morning and it was!
