PORTEmaus

PORTEmaus A veritable concoction of humor, politics, culture, film and music. film and music.

Began as the primary means for Manfred Funkowitz (more affectionately known as Manny by his string of admirers and even his enemies) to broadcast random and altogether vitriolic thoughts regarding contemporary politics and fine literature. The site continues in this tradition, while adding a few new columns and new contributors in the form of good ol' Bence, the music man himself, Hudson Hawk and Gonzi or the "Andy Rooney of this PORTEmaus s*&t!"

PORTEmaus: Public Reaction to Affleck's Selection as Batman Reveals America has too Much Time on...

Did you hear the news? Of course you did! No, I am not talking about the purported use of chemical weapons in Syria or Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiating a same-sex marriage in Washington D.C. (What, was Scalia busy?) tomorrow. I am referring to something much worse and more newsworthy than anything el...

Upon his least favorite cinematic journeys. Here's the first runner up http://www.portemaus.com/2013/01/the-odds-be-ever-in-your-favor-hunger.html?m=1

Year after year a bunch of films are released that make question why you wasted your time on watching them. When the twenty-third Bond was green lit, you would have been hard pressed to find someone more excited than yours truly. The long delay due to lack of funding did little to temper this enthusiasm. Like most, I have a fondness for Pixar films for a myriad of reasons. The most important is that they put out a superior product and simply do not keep churning out horrible sequels (Dreamworks, I am looking at you.). Sure, the have had some missteps (Cars 2) that lead you to expect more or try to h...
