Welcome to Newport Rhode Island
A town steeped in history and known for its beautiful architecture and stunning coastal views.
This charming town was once a hub of the American Revolution and a favourite summer destination for the country's wealthy elite.
Visitors to Newport can explore the town's rich history by visiting landmarks such as the Newport Tower, a mysterious stone structure that dates back to the 17th century, or the Touro Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in the United States.
There is so much history and so many local friendly people.
We didn't feel out of place at all; everyone was welcoming.
There are a few halal shops, and we did enjoy the famous local lobster roll for lunch and halal fast food for dinner.
Since it is a coastal city, I highly recommend trying the sea food options available.
We went off-season they open around May until October but end of April, the weather is good and also much cheaper.

Hyatt has launched a really cool promotion, in my opinion. If you want to have a little more luxury on your next holiday, check it out.
Basically, you stay 5 nights in a Hyatt and receive a Suite Upgrade. I normally use mine for Makkah, where a room can cost £150 a night but a suite £600 a night, so very good value.
Make sure you register before staying and read the details for more info. I also have a review of a couple of suites in Makkah.
But if you're going on a honeymoon or a holiday and you can make those 5 stays, definitely worth it as you can make your special occasion better.

A review of the Welcome Lounge Terminal 1 Jeddah airport.
You can access this lounge via membership cards like Priority Pass and Lounge Key. Children over 2yrs old are considered adults and pay the full price.
The food was not bad, there was plenty of seating, a large space and a hot selection. There are no showers, however.
For a couple of hours, it's a good option, especially if free with your credit card.

Turning 36 had me depressed for about 6 months! I have no idea why, but the thought of going over 35 was scary :)
I mean, age is just a number, right? But I do have white hair and also a few wrinkles to boot!
I have so many lessons over the 36 years of my life, but most importantly, I am blessed to live the life I have now.
18-year-old Elena had it hard with people doubting her ability, putting her down and making her feel less than worthy!
If there is one thing I learned over these past years, it will work on yourself and forgive those who hurt you, not for them but for yourself. Let go of the pain, the self-doubt, and anything that is holding you back.
I wish I had known that lesson when I was 26, not 36! But it is never too late. Do what inspires you and makes your heart happy because, honestly, confidence is the best anti-ageing cream I am discovering.

Didn't know @flynas flew the route Maseille to Jeddah direct with such good prices until I started looking for flight in December. Currently prices are around £300return with connecting flights from the UK around £50 return.This includes luggage.
Also you can easily mix and match and do just one way with them then book another route return giving you
More flexibility to add for example a holiday to Dubai after 😉

I made this in Qatar, now I'm going to Saudi to make a few more because I love how it looks on photos 😄 the movement is on point 😉
I am glad I managed to take a photo with this dress in Machu Picchu especially because the guard at the first viewpoint said it was against the rules to dress up🤨 won't mention the guy next to me who stripped down to dress up though 🤔.
Was it because it was an abaya and I had a hijab or was it he truly actually enforced the rules just on me!?
I decided I don't care. As a Muslim we get discrimination and I don't agree with it, I think it's short sighted and stupid BUT it is up to me how it affects me.
It can make me angry and bitter and say I will never visit or tell everyone i was discriminated or I can decide it was a one-off thing on an experrience of a lifetime, roll it off and move on.
I met so many people and I decided one person wont affect my opinion of others because then I will be more like them.
I always prefer to take the positive route. It is the reason I started MuslimTravelGil to help Muslims be more confident as travellers and I hope 🙏 I live up to that!
Yes, there will always be negatives but in my travel experience 99% it was positive so I will write it off as a following the rules 😉.
At the end I'm glad it happened because actually this view point was perfect for my abaya shots and ot was thanks to Cinthia who recommended it. I had the whole place to myself for a few minutes and I know for sure we plan but Allah plans better. 🙏

I don't think my kid realised how lucky she is, but also don't think she cares. It's just more space for her to run around.
I also think for toddlers it's a waste of money to buy them seats because they never stay on them.
One of the reasons why I started travel hacking was because I got an upgrade from Athens to Manchester in Euro business class (which is nothing to shout out) BUT I saw how the service was.
Since then I wanted to try and get an upgrade again or learn how to fly business more often.

If you have travelled with me you know the ONE thing I never travel without is a steamer.
I have posted this on social media and people even message asking which is my favourite now.
After burning my favourite dress with a hotel iron years ago I decided to just get one. Never looked back. The new steamers are powerful and small to fit even in my hand luggage.
Especially as a Muslimah with long clothes and hijabs, I find it more reliable than anything a hotel can provide.
What is the one thing you don't travel without?
p.s. I know people will ask so this is a @philips steamer. It was my first time recording and using and I'm super happy with this purchase.

Here is the pre-clearane in Dublin Airport and how ot works.
For me this is the easiest and fastest way to travel and sometimes cheaper.
Keep in mind this is only for direct flights to USA 🇺🇸 you won't get pre clearance if your flight goes for example Dublin to London to New York.
I know many of you have asked that as well. If you travel with children I find this less stressful because you have less wait.
The longer I have waited In a queue was about 15min compare to 1hr in JFK which still wasn't bed.
On this flight it took less than 5min from going through security to immigration and waiting to board.
Know that there is not much after. There is a lounge which you pay for or a small cafe kiosk
