Everything about this hits home for me. When I think about what I've learned through Haitian history about the connection to Dahomey. The warrior woman who was captured from Dahomey and brought to Ayiti, who raised a little boy who would grow to be the revolutionary that would free a country that would lead to the end of slavery around world. It is not lost on me where and who we come from. I am so thrilled that we using media to spark interest in our history and in essence, interest in ourselves and our inherent greatness.
"The Woman King" tells the "remarkable story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s with skills and a fierceness unlike anything the world has ever seen."
Who's READY for this film???!

I captured a snippet of a conversation with @dianecbailey during my haircut back in 2020. This is a conversation I wish I had 20 years ago when I first cut my hair after transitioning from a relaxer.
There is no magic wand that will get your hair to do what you think it ought to do. This is an important point that will save a lot of women from feeling disappointment and frustration when styling their natural hair.
Have patience and know that a little work is going to be required to get your desired result! Working with different textures on one head is a point of confusion for many of us so you are not alone! Thankfully, there are experienced hair care professionals who can navigate us through the journey of learning how to work with our unique texture.
We decided to create the NEXT Level Naturals Hands-On Community Classes because we want you to know that natural hair is NOT “difficult” once you know what you’re doing and what to expect. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another but in this workshop you will find what works best for YOU!
Join us on Saturday March 26th for the first class of 2022 @nybeautysuites in Downtown Brooklyn! Early bird tickets are available until Feb 3!
Make sure to register and secure your spot so you can be front and center to receive all of this important knowledge! Check out the link in our bio!
Tag a friend who can use a class like this! They will thank you for it!
