🌟We visited the incredible walk-through holiday light display, Winter Lights, at the The North Carolina Arboretum, which runs now through December 31st. This is easily one of the most beautiful and whimsical displays in our area!

✨WINTERFEST at Carowinds is now happening & it's really fun & festive! ✨

Here's what to expect at Winterfest:

🎄Tons of holiday lights
🎅 Pictures with Santa
☃️ Christmas parade
🎢 Super fun rides (not all are open - check the website)
☕ Amazing holiday drinks like hot chocolate with all the toppings + special holiday food offerings
🍪 Cookie decorating with Mrs. Clause
🔥 Cozy igloos to rent
🎵 Holiday shows

Winterfest runs 5-10pm Friday-Sunday and more days around Thanksgiving and Christmas until January 5, 2015. Their event calendar on their website has all the details.

We really - really - loved checking out Winterfest and the kids had such a blast. Lines were really short and we rode Fury 325 three times. It was awesome!

Cirque de Soleil’s brand new holiday show, Twas the Night Before, is performing in Charlotte! And, we got a chance to see opening night. 🌲 We thought it was a cool and fantastic show. Here's everything you need to know:

Based on the classic poem, “A Visit from Saint Nicolas” by Clement Clarke Moore, watch thrilling acrobatics, lovable characters - and a soundtrack including holiday classics re-invented by Cirque du Soleil. 🎪

- At least 9 different "circus elements" including parkour, roller skates, acrobats, and more
- Lots of humor and dancing (including TikTok dance moves) that both young kids and teens would enjoy
- Interactive elements (one couple even got pulled on the stage)
- 85 minutes long with no intermission
- Multiple show dates/times and special deals are available
- Family friendly, but be aware that it does have flashing lights and loud noises.
- We recommend getting into downtown Charlotte early if you attend the show so you can grab dinner before. The show is great for kids, but also would be a great date night or fun friend outing!
