🦐 Yucatan Shrimp | Doc Ford's 🦐

Tomorrow, May 24th, is National Yucatan Shrimp Day! Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille is serving up their famed Yucatan Shrimp to celebrate the occasion! With their all-new zesty bottled Yucatan sauce that you can try in the restaurant or buy a couple of bottles to use at home on your next dish. Oh, and by the way, it works pretty well in a Bloody Mary, too! Honestly, I really enjoyed this dish. It's a large portion that is perfect for sharing. The dish features steamed peel-and-eat shrimp in a dressing of real butter, garlic, mild colombian chilies, fresh cilantro, and key lime juice and you can order a half or full pound. Not to mention, when the shrimp is gone, use some bread to soak up that sauce to polish the plate off. You'll thank me later.

I also got to try their famous Doc's Yucatan Bloody Mary, which is a drink and a small app all in one. Made with St. George Vodka, Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix, and their signature Yucatan Sauce. Then, of course, it's topped to the gills with goodies, and of course, 2 massive Yucatan shrimp that are so tasty.

🍹 Naples Gastrobar 🍹

This place came highly recommended for a while, so I finally made my way to Naples to check it out. And it didn't disappoint, FUSE Gastrobar has a unique menu with all sorts of options like kangaroo carpaccio, which is actually very tasty. As well as a full bar and cocktails that you probably won't find in many places. Like the ube cocktail I tried. We sampled the Octopus, BBQ bao, and millionaire's smoked burger. All of which was delicious, and the service was also impeccable. It's got a classic feel with a very laid-back vibe, which is a refreshing atmosphere, being that it's in Naples. It's probably not a hidden gem to the Naples, but it's coming from Fort Myers. I would say it's one of Naples' best kept secrets. Definitely check them out. You can go wrong with the menu range they offer, and the bar alone is worth a visit for some tasty classix cocktails or new age twists that will have you wanting more.

🍕🍻🍗 Oak & Stone | Estero 🍗🍻🍕

Artisan pizza, craft beers, wings, and more! We were invited for the friends & family and to the grand opening this morning to check things out and experience the tap and pour beer wall.

We started with some phiily cheesesteak eggrolls and pretzel crusted tuna sashimi appetizers. The cheese dip for the egg rolls was 🔥. Of course, we had to try a pizza, so we snagged "the farmer & pig" whixh featured prosciutto, arugula, mozzarella, hot honey, and fresh pecorino romano which was delicious. Followed that up with Crispy Grouper BLT, which featured a crunch cornflake crusted grouper Filet. And of course, we had to try some wings, going for the sweet soul flavor. And to cap things off, we had the bananas fosters cheesecake, which was a good choice, not too heavy or too sweet. Their will be chances to win prizes from today through Dec 17, 2023, to celebrate their grand opening. So check then out online and visit the store when you get a chance. 💥 New Coffee Shop 💥

Better Latte than never right 😉. Last week on the 29th, Savour Coffee & Catering had their grand opening and ribbon cutting event in Fort Myers. Chef Matt Geiger and his wife are dishing out some tasty coffee and food you're going to want to try. They feature all the classic coffee favorites as well as some latte art that is on point. As well as Vietnamese style coffee and even some pretty tasty Bánh Mi and other lunch and breakfast options. For people who aren't caffeine inclined, they have boba and refreaher drinks to choose from. I know I posted about them before, but the owners are great people, and supporting local business is what we do. So check them out and let me know what you think!

Gather | Cape Coral

This post was a long time coming, was nice enough to let me tag along for a chance to try Gather in Cape Coral for the first time. Granted, I don't always make the long journey that way, but this was totally worth it. and were very accomidating and took great care of us with all the delicious meals. We got the chance to talk for a while, and they have so much knowledge of food and culture that it was just so fun to hear their stories.

Getting down to the nitty gritty, we started off with a Charcuterie & cheese board with some lamp lollipops. They were delicious, the lamp pops were done with a curry sauce with cauliflower and naan that were so tasty i was looking for more naan to soak up the rest of the sauce. We moved over to the mains with Grilled Octopus, which was some of the best i've had in the area hands down, which came with potatoes, a spicy tomoto aiolo, and andouille with bell peppers. We were torn on which pasta dish to order, so we got the Bolognese and Blue Crab & Adnolotti both were delcious. The pasta was delicious all by itself, and the ricotta and parmesean crisps on the Bolongese were dreamy. The dessert was just as delightful with a strawberry bazil sorbet to go with the vanilla cream cake, yummmm. If you're in Cape Coral, you have to try this place, and if you're thinking if it's worth the drive from Ft Myers, it's absolutely is. 💥 Good Eats | Downtown Ft Myers💥

Where are my meatloaf fans at? It's been a hot minute since I've had meatloaf. It gets a bad rep, but I feel like a good meatloaf is worth showcasing. So, if you have a solid spot for meatloaf, let us know. 10 Twenty Five in downtown Fort Myers has a pretty solid loaf, I got broccoli and mashed potatoes on the side with some gravy that was dreamy. It was honestly delicious, I only wish it was a little bigger since I enjoyed it so much. And we got the pretzel sticks with the beer cheese, and those were pretty dang tasty, too!

They also offer some killer chicken sandwiches and seasonal cocktails that will surprise you. I don't go here enough, but it never disappoints. With locations in Downtown Fort Myers and Cape Coral 10 Twenty Five is a local restaurant chain you will want to check out. 🌮 Craft Tacos & More 🌮

Went foodie adventuring in Orlando awhile back, so I have some content back logged. If you're into tacos, then you need to check out Tin & Taco. They offer a bad ass selection of tacos with just about anything combination of toppings. It's not traditional but it's delicious. The "Tin" is because they also offer Craft Beer & Sodas too. found this spot, and he hit it right on the head with the tacos he ordered, too.

We stopped into their S**O location with is attached to , which is killer too. And we ordered the Mac Attack, Boom Boom, Pork on Fire, and I can't remember the last one. But they were all delicious and I could have eaten all 4 by myself! Definitely a must try stop if you're in the Orlando area, especially for Taco Tuesday.

🧁 Utterly Delicious Desserts 🧁

Stumbled on this little gem tucked away in the with some tasty treats. They offer cupcakes, cookies, and other custom desserts. Great for just grabbing some while you're at the Flea Market or giving them a call to order desserts for events like birthdays, graduations, or anything in between. and I gor a chance to try some of the cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies which were delicious. 💎 Estero Hidden Gem 💎

Let's taco-bout this place, Tacos on the Road in Estero is a must try spot. You've probably passed right by them, located inside the Marathon Gas Station on Corkscrew in Estero. You'll be shocked walking in there. It's this super cool little spot with fresh produce, chill vibes, and a robust menu of options. From Tacos, burritos, and Salads, they even have healthy smoothies, too! I had some steak and al pastor street tacos that were delicious. My partner in crime snagged a salad with some shrimp, and it looked bomb. If you're looking for a new taco spot to try, you gotta add this place to your list. I'll definitely be heading back for a burrito in the near future.

🍕 Detroit Style Pizza 🍕

Hit the rood for some foodie adventures with my buddy to check out some Orlando eats that you gotta try. These pies are fresh, flavorful, and all things Detroit. Not to mention, they have classics Faygo Soda, so of course, I had to throw those in. But what's Detroit style pizza you might need asking? Well, Wikipedia describes it as rectangular pan pizza with a thick, crisp, chewy crust. It is traditionally topped to the edges with Wisconsinbrick cheese, which caramelizes against the high-sided heavyweight rectangular pan. I just call it delicious 😋.

SoDough steps things up with 24-hour fermented Detroit style dough, fresh sauce made, and brick shredded cheese all done in-house. We ordered the 24 enforcer, which is a meat lovers delight. Followed up with a Detroit Rob pizza, let me yell you the whipped ricotta and hot honey was dancing on my taste buds all night. If you're in the Orlando area, you gotta check this place out.

💥 New Restaurant Opening 💥

Logans Road House opened their first SWFL location in Fort Myers this past week, with its grand opening on April 19th. They were nice enough to invite us to sample the menu, so I brought fellow local foodie taste tester and we had the chance to meet some of their marketing team, shout out to for some gift cards.

They offer a wide range of menu options such as apps, sandwiches, and entrées. With options to mix and match so you can get a little bit of everything. We had a great server who was nice enough to walk us through the menu. The pricing is very fair for the portion sizes, and their desserts are delicious. We tried some of their potato skins and fried pickles, which I think were some of my favorite things we tried. For an entree, we mixed & and matched a Filet with some ribs, broccoli, and a sweet potato. We capped off the meal with their Peach cobbler that comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was really good!

🔋 Bring that BIG Energy🔋

Finally got a chance to swing by Big Energy Cafe in Fort Myers with my partner in crime .Also shout out to .coffeeaddict_ for constantly reminding me to check them out, you were right. It's a must try spot.

If you're looking for a fun and upbeat spot to get come coffee and a boost of energy, then this place is for you! Owner Barby Mercado opened Big Energy Cafe in April of 2022 right off Gladiolus Drive in South Fort Myers. They serve a range of coffee and smoothies drinks, as well as great food and berry bowls, all from scratch and always with fresh ingredients. It's definitely a place you have to check out for the full effect. We tried their Avo Evo Toast, Rise and grind wraps, and an Isla Azul bowl, as well as an iced matcha latte and a Cafe Con Leche, which was delicious 😋. If you get a chance, you need to check this place out!

☕️ Coffee Time ☕️

It's Bean a Minute, I was out and about in Orlando FL about a week or so ago when I stumbled on this cool little coffee shop. Me and my buddy and I stopped in to check it out. They have a full compliment of coffees available with some seasonal options as well. Perfect spot for a chill stufy session or work meeting. They also roast their own beans so you can grab some to go. I had a basic ived latte, and my buddy got an Americano (I think). I thought it was good, more of a mild medium type coffee flavor with low acidity, which, for me, is delicious. I'm sure they have other options as well. If you're in the Orlando area, you should check them out!

🍰 Must Try Desserts 🍰

Have you tried Angelic Desserts Bakery & Cafe yet? Store fron located in Naples FL, but you can find them on Thursdays at the Coconut Point Farmers Markets. I have had this spot on my list for a while now, so I was so happy to see them at the farmers market near me. They have a crazy assortment of delicious baked goods, with GF options as well. They even have special order options for special events for any occasion. Trust me, you will want to try them out. I tried the carrot cake and personal GF key lime pie, and both were delicious. I had to contain myself from ordering too much because it all looked so good. Their cinnamon rolls are next on my list to try, with plenty of other pastries that will leave you wanting more. I'll have to make my way into the store front, but for now, Thursday morning treats just got a little sweeter. ☕️ Must Try Coffee & Wine Bar ☕️

Are you looking for some tasty coffee or just a fun night out in Bonita? Then you need to check this place out. This little hidden gem has some delicious treats like monster chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls that will leave you wanting rolls, and they even have gluten-free options. Just as I'll admit she did all the eating this time around. Not to mention, their pistachio latte is really good. With regular seasonal favorites, I just tried their toasted coconut caramel latte. And they offer wine as well, with regular live events like live music and local comedy shows. So check them out and see what's on the calendar for their next event!

🧀 Best Philly Cheese 🧀

Alright, let the great debate begin for the best Philly Cheese is Fort Myers, heck, maybe even SWFL? My choice is Philly Junction in Fort Myers, and no, I'm not a Wiz Cheese fan (so sue me). I've been passing by this place for a hot minute and finally decided I had to check it out. It's definitely your classic sandwich shop, with some great Philly memorabilia and an old school feel that suits perfectly for a good sandwich shop. Keeping it simple is what makes a great Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. And for the portions, the bang for your buck is really good. For those asking, "Where is the cheese at?" Hold your horses it's in there. Clever enough, it's on the bottom, which helped the bread not get soggy and fall apart as you bite into it. The fries were also delicious, and that was a half basket, so be hungry. Everything came out hot, and the service was good. Granted, it was a slow afternoon, but it still seemed like a well-oiled machine. There aren't too many Philly Cheese spots in town, and so far, this has been my favorite. 💥 Grand Opening 💥

It's official, Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant is open in Fort Myers! We were lucky enough to be invited to sample some of the menu and wines for the big day. The Cooper's Hawk team gave us the run down on the menu with some great wine pairing options, too. If you're not familiar with the brand, Cooper's Hawk was founded in 2005 by CEO Tim McEnery and based out of Illionois. They feature Napa-style tasting rooms and an award winning winery and restaurants around the country. And don't forget to ask about their wine club!

We had the pleasure of meeting .wines who is responsible for crafting some of their signature wines as well as a menu of delicious mocktails. Tim Mahler was also in attendance, he runs their culinary team and GM Clarissa Fleshner.

The food was all delicious, and their menu features options for just about anyone. Below is a list of what we tried. I was a big fan of the Short Ribs and Key Lime Pie, but honestly, it was all very good 😋. If you haven't been yet, check them out. They offer great prices and quality food that can't be beat, not to mention a very affordable selection of wines.

🧋 Tea Time 🧋

Is anyone down up for some tea? Estero Bay Olive Oil is located in Coconut Point Mall and has pretty much all the tea you can drink. With a compliment of olive oils and other things that are great for at home cooking. They have a fun little tea bar, too, where you can customize your own drink or pick from a menu of specialty options. I grabbed a matcha latte and added some boba. It's a tasty cool down for a hot Florida summer day. Have you tried them yet?

🍖 BBQ Time | Ft. Myers 🍖

Looking for some tasty options for some good BBQ in Fort Myers. Well, I got the spot for you to check out. Big Nicks BBQ has some delicious BBQ. Located off Cypress Lake in a small drive-through building, these guys are slinging some serious flavor and meats. I stopped in and walked up, and they window opened up with an intoxicating aroma that only a BBQ joint could have. I ordered the TWO Meat plate with 2 sides, and chose brisket, ribs, fries, sauce, and a Hawaiian bun. They have decent portions, and the pricing is reasonable. There isn't a seating area, let's just say it smelled so good that it didn't make the drive home. Overall, it was very good the Brisket cooked perfectly and the ribs were solid. I would suggest getting enough to share because you're gonna want to eat a good amount of these bad boys. I'll be back for sure. Check them out!

🥐 Delicious Croissants 🥐

Throw back to my last visit to La Colmar Bakery & Bistro in Naples. They have some very tasty Croissants as well as other pastries. Pair that with a cup of coffee and maybe a sandwich from their Bistro served on their fleshly baked breads. It has all the making of a delightful afternoon or morning hangout. 🍜 Yoko San Ramen | Naples 🍜 Ramen Calm cause this place has spe delicious Ramen and Korean Corn Dogs you're going to want to check our. Yoko-San Ramen in Naples, Florida is one of my go-to spots for Ramen and Boba. @tasteofswfl came along so we could sample some of their Korean Corndogs and Bao Buns as well. The service is always great and their lunch specials are a great deal which is every day from 12-3pm. I had the classic Tonkotsu Ramen, which is my go-to, but I've had almost all their Ramen dishes, and they're all super tasty. Don't sleep on their boba either, they have a little bar area where they shake up some delicious boba mixes, and they have split cups to so you can try multiple flavors or share with a friend 😉. 💥 Hidden Gem Cafe | Ft Myers 💥 This is definitely a best kept secret snuggled into Foet Myers. Fiore's Cafe is a charming little spot that features a garden center, outside seating, and fresh eggs right from their own chickens. Not to mention some sneaky pastries that are delicious. I'll admit I found this place from @kmoconne awhile back, and I was itching to try it ever since. I had the Tenderloin Sandwich, a cinnamon roll, and they were nice enough to let me sample the beignets. It's a great spot to hang out and read a book, or take a date to really impress them with your under the radar hidden gem. Not to mention, when it's a little less hot, you can tour the garden center and enjoy a nice walk with plenty of exotic flowers and landscaping. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and pastriea, and the service is always great. Now it's a small spot, so it's a one man/woman crew making the cafe, so just be patient. 🍪 Must Try Cookies 🍪 Okay, I know what you're thinking. How many more cookie places could they try. Blame @coraincolor for bringing me along for her cookie escapades at their Estero, Florida Location. In all honesty @chipcookiesco is one of my favorites, particularly for their OG semi sweet chocolate chip, which is just too good to pass up. However, they have a bunch of options and toppings that will satisfy any craving you might have. Did you know they also have day old cookies at a discount? Cause I didn't, but I do now! 🍞 New Bakery & Cafe | Fort Myers 🍞 Raising the Dough in Fort Myers is a new spot located in University Village called Sour & Dough Artisan Bakery. But they aren't just serving up loafs of bread. They also offer some great breakfast and lunch options too. Such as breakfast quiche and fochacia sandwiches, as well as some sweet pastry options like crossiants and other pastries you'll want to try. And if you're in need of a caffeine, pick me up. They also have a full compliment of coffee drink options to get you through the day. 🍔 Must Try Smash Burgers 🍔 These are the buns that I want, Only Doubles is probably my favorite smash burger in SWFL. And they were recently voted the best burger in Naples for 2024, so respect the title people! 🇮🇹 Must Try Italian Bakery 🇮🇹 Focaccia 'Bout Your Worries when you're at Bontà Bakery in Naples Florida. Recently opened on 5th Ave in Naples, right next to Cafe Milano, Bontà Bakery is inspired by traditional Italian bakeries in Rome, in fact the translations Bontà means "goodness" which you can taste in all their baked goods. All their breads use high-quality ingredients directly imported from Italy, so they give you the best experience and show case meticulous attention to their craft. @tarametblog and I had a chance to swing by to check out what they have to offer. We started off with some Latte's and sfogliatelle pastry which you might know as "lobster tail" here in the States, it's a flaky treat that pairs well with coffee and is filled with a blended ricotta. We then, of course, had to try some of their hefty sandwiches on their in-house made breads. We tried the brioche sandwich with egg, sun-dried tomatoes, argula, and mozarella as well as the Prosciutto di Parma focaccia, which were both very tasty. Then, of course, we had to sample some gelato because when in Rome, right? We had a Tiramisu and Pistacio gelato, both of which wereso good, and a great treat to beat the florida heat. They feature an all-day menu of grab-and-go options of savory to sweet foods, as well as coffee & gelato, and they're open from 8AM - 11PM daily. So you can grab a coffee to start your day and a gelato for a sweet after dinner treat all in the same day. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on local favorites and must try treats as well. ☕️ Bee Ready for a Buzz ☕️ Urban Buzz Coffee Company opened their 2nd location in SWFL at @uvillageshops near @fgcu in Fort Myers, FL. We had a chance to check out some of the classics like their popular OG, which is caramel, vanilla, with a caramel drizzle, as well as the smores and haze daze cold brew. And true to the name, I was feeling the caffeine Buzz the rest of the morning. The new space features an awesome mural from local artists @gabriellesartpage , a ton of seating, ping ping, and, of course, a drive threw window for the on the go crowd, It's a great addition to the area, especially in close proximity to the college. Every customer is greeted by their always friendly staff of "buzzistas" slinging anything from coffee, tea, energy drinks, smoothies, and more, with over 1,000 drinks combinationals. 🦞 Get Your Lobster Roll Fix 🦞 Lobster Rolls: The ultimate 'shell-ebration' of flavor! Located in Fort Myers, off College Pkwy is Lobster Rolls No.1, which features some hefty lobster rolls that you're going to want to try. A new locally owned business, they have a location in Naples as well, and own the fries shop next door. The menu features the classic chilled lobster roll, the warm connecticut roll, and a lobster salad roll, too, and if you cant chose they have a sampler with all 3 options, too As well as some other options like salads, soups, and some insanely tasty fries basket with just about any topping you can think of. We tried the classic quebec poutine, and BBQ pulled pork fries and let me tell you, come hungry, these bad boys are HUGE. And if you're looking for a healthier alternative, the salads are very tasty too, I really enjoy the rainbow bowl that featured a delicious pink hummus that has beets in it and tasty falafel. The prices are very reasonable for the large portion sizes, so before you all start to say "WOW, that's expensive." Remember that lobster isn't cheap, and they get their lobster fresh from Maine. They also own the @friesfactory_us next door that is open till 3 AM for anyone having the late night munchies, but that's a post for another time. 🔥 Local Hot Spot 🔥 If you know, you know. The Eatery by Ryan is a local hot spot in Fort Myers, right off Alico Rd and US 41. I haven't been there in a hot minute, so we had to revisit them. They have breakfast and lunch options and are known for the Philly Cheese steaks (which admittedly I have yet to try). But they also have added to the menu since my last visit, and the chicken parm sandwich just sounded too good to pass up, and with the cold weather we're having a side of tomato soup was the perfect pairing. It's a great local spot that you should check out if you're in the area. Heads up, weekends they offer brunch specials so it can get pretty busy, so plan accordingly. Otherwise the staff is always very friendly and the service is pretty quick. ☕️ Coffee Time ☕️ As much as I enjoy coffee shops, I also just really like making coffee at home. Java Planet Organic Coffee is located in Tampa, FL. They have some tasty, low acid roasted coffee beans that coffee addicts like me will enjoy. Started in 2008 by Mike & Jennifer Simmons from their passion for health and good coffee. They were kind enough to send me over a bag of their Sumatran, Colombian, and Guatalemalan coffee to sample. They roast small batch, organic, and ethically sourced coffee beans, with variations of roast for those of you who prefer darker roast options to choose from. My favorite was Guatemalan, but all their coffee was very smooth and not at all bitter. It's great for a French press, pour over, or just your old school drop machine. I haven't tried espresso drinks just yet. If you like coffee and enjoy checking out new local roasters, they check these guys out. You can order online for delivery as well. 🧋New Boba Shop🧋 I was feeling a little Bobb-ly the other day so I went over to GCTC to check out the new Boba Shop I have been hearing about called Sharetea, located next to the World of Beer off Alico and Ben Hill rd. This place has some cool asthetics with a modern clean vibe and, of course, a whole menu of Boba tea options. They have all the classics like Taro and Thai Tea and of course you can always build your own too. They're a chain, but this is the first location in the area that I know about. I tried the Taro Ice Blended with Pudding, and I added Boba pearls because, I mean, let's be real it's Boba or nothing for me 😄. It was really good and the staff was super friendly. It might seem expensive, but costs are going up everywhere, and for the price, you get a reasonable amount of drink. Definitely check it out if you're in the area or between classes for you, FGCU, and college kids in the area.
