This was Manipur Gazette 1963, this was during the time of a Union Territory, following Part-C status of Manipur which was ruled directly by The Union of India. ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ ๐ฌ๐จ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ซ! Kukis were few in number and settled in pockets of land.

The demography changed so much in the last few decades that many indigenous tribes of Manipur e.g. Aimol, Tarao, Khoibu, โฆ are in danger of extinction due to the influx of this huge Kuki-Chin population from neighbouring countries.

Just to remind, Kukis tried to befriend with the Maring tribe, classing them as one of their kindred tribes in their quest for indegeneity and legitimacy to the land. Maring tribe, which has a very close affinity with the Meiteis rejected Kukisโ claims bluntly as expected!
