Positive(ish) Hiatus Announcement!
As you know we recently took quite a long break over Easter, and we won’t lie - we loved it! It gave us a chance to focus on other work, have some down time and reflect on the podcast.
We realised just how blooming hard we’ve been working on Positive(ish) and as much as we love having deep conversations with amazing guests and generally spreading good vibes, it does, of course, require a lot of time, work and commitment.
Myself, Sam and our producer Andy all came to the conclusion that we just couldn’t fit the podcast in anymore. Other work has picked up for us, which is great, but it means we just can’t commit to Positive(ish) in the way that we did when we launched in lockdown. Myself and Sam have a lot of really exciting writing work on our plates and Andy has landed his dream football coaching job, so we’re all living our best lives and we can thank Positive(ish) for helping us get to this point.
But if we’re being honest, running the podcast has actually become quite stressful for us. So we’re taking our own Positive(ish) advice and saying no to burnout. We are going to go on a hiatus. We’re not saying goodbye forever, but we are saying goodbye for now. You’ll still be able to listen to all of our previous episodes and I’m sure we’ll still be dropping in here and there on our Insta but we probably won’t be as present.
We really want to express our eternal gratitude for all of your incredible support. Thanks for listening and sharing. It feels like we’ve created such a lovely, authentic and genuinely positive space and we are very proud of all that the podcast has achieved.
We’d also like to thank all of our wonderful guests that have joined us for a DMC. We love and appreciate all of you.
We hope you understand and continue to strive for positivity with a big dose of honest reality in true Positive(ish) spirit.
Vicki, Sam and Andy ###
Exclusive Patreon Section with Casey McQuillen
This week, we're doing something a bit different...
We're taking some time off and giving ourselves an Easter break, so there's no new episode today. But we thought you still deserved some Positive(ish) in your life!
So this week, instead of a new episode, we're sharing a clip from our exclusive Patreon section of the podcast with the amazing Casey McQuillen.
We've recently introduced an exclusive bonus section of the conversation where we let loose and ask our guests some fun, silly, juicy questions - and it's a blast! This section is ONLY available to our Patreon members, but we wanted to give you a taste of what it's all about.
This hilarious story from Casey was too good NOT to share, but if you want to hear the full story - plus find out Casey's first celeb crush and her favourite karaoke song - you need to head to our website (http://www.positiveish.co.uk) and sign up to our Patreon.
You'll hear the full section from Casey's episodes, as well as past and future guests, and get a load of other special benefits too. So go on - treat yourself and become a fully-fledged Positive(ish) pal!
We'll be back with more episodes soon but until then, have a fabulous week 💖

Episode 28: How Are You, Really?
Well well well, look who's piping up this week - it's only our producer, Andy! He jumps on our latest episode to call out Sam on her endless to-do lists and, let's be honest, he's not wrong!
One of the reasons we love recording episodes just the two (or three!) of us is that it genuinely feels like we're just sitting down with a cuppa and having a good ol' chat. We went deep in this episode by asking each other the all-important question: how are you, really?
Check out the episode on our website - https://www.positiveish.co.uk/episodes-1 - or search 'Positive(ish) on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, etc.

Episode 27: Skin Deep with Isabella Matthews
"I think it's because they're so unhappy and they feel like they've got to knock you down. But how sad, that they put that energy out into the universe and go that far to knock someone down?"
Obviously we love sharing our corner of the internet with you, but it's no secret that social media can be a breeding ground for negative comments. But thankfully, we got some sound advice on how to turn those comments into kindness from our wonderful guest Isabella Matthews.
Give the episode a listen now - head to our wesbite: https://www.positiveish.co.uk/episodes-1 or search 'Positive(ish)' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, etc.

Episode 26: The Everyday with Jess Blackwell
"If you identify as a creative person, when you feel like you've lost that it can be a huge thing to combat and battle, the idea that you've lost what makes you special."
We talk about pursuing creativity and reigniting that spark later in life throughout our latest podcast episode with the incredibly inspiring Jess Blackwell (The Everyday). It's something really close to our hearts, and we think it'll resonate with many of you too so please do give it a listen.
Listen here: https://www.positiveish.co.uk/episodes-1. Or, simply search 'Positive(ish)' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, etc.

Episode 25: Happy and Healthy with Jo Furneaux
"I don't like scales. They don't really tell you anything about yourself, do they? It's just a number and yet the power that has, mostly over women, is bullsh*t."
YES! Too right it's bullsh*t! These are just some of the wise, wise words spoken by positive health and fitness coach Jo Furneaux on our latest episode. What better reason to go and listen to it?!
You can find our episodes on our website - https://www.positiveish.co.uk/episodes-1 - or by searching 'Positive(ish)' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.

Episode 24: True Self with Alex Manzi
"We always go out of our way to find this thing to make us feel 20% better, 50% better... what if it was just 1%?"
We LOVED talking to Alex Manzi about the 1% Rule! We love the idea that, instead of striving to make huge leaps every day, we should just focus on finding something that makes today 1% better than yesterday. It could be a good cup of coffee, or 10 minutes of meditation, or telling yourself you're awesome - whatever it is, as long as you can make your day that tiny bit better, that's progress. And after a year of improving on the day before by just 1%, who knows how far you'll come?!
Check out our episode with Alex to hear more inspiring words about the 1% Rule - listen here: https://www.positiveish.co.uk/episodes-1 or search 'Positive(ish)' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.

Episode 23: Resilience
"People are SO afraid of failure but, to me, failure, rejection, heartbreak - they are all signs that you are living. That you are being brave. That you are going for that thing you want. And I'd rather be brave and fail, than never try and be safe."
Our wonderful and wise Vicki Sargent is spot on, and words like that are why we love her. Listen to more of our latest episode 'Resilience' by heading to our website - https://www.positiveish.co.uk/episodes-1

Episode 22: All That Jazz with Taylor Notcutt
Recently, our guest this week Taylor Notcutt found herself at the receiving end of some nasty comments about her visual impairment from strangers as she walked home using her cane.
She bravely posted about this on social media and gave an honest account about how those comments made her feel, and she was kind enough to share that again with us during the episode to raise awareness and stop ignorance.

Episode 21: Time of the Month with Tash Tomlin
Okay, are we the only ones who knew nothing about PMS before this episode?! We always thought it's just something we have to live with (as is so often the case with women's health... 🙄) but turns out, there's loads you can do to help ease the symptoms!
Eating cruciferous vegetables, raw carrots and herbs, taking pro-biotics, reducing stress levels, slowing down the week before your period - Tash (Whole Heartedly Tash Period Coach & Breathwork Healer) shared so many tips with us on how to help with PMS, much to Vicki's relief!

Episode 20: Anxiety with Jade Brown
"The other important thing that made a huge difference was gratitude in the morning. I know everyone has probably heard of that, but it really does make a difference. The important thing is to feel into the emotion of gratitude."
This week, we spoke with anxiety and holistic health coach Jade Brown who gave us SO many tips on how to improve our mental health. We spoke about all sorts of techniques during the episode, including practising gratitude.
Being actively grateful is a super simple daily practise that we can all do - whether you're feeling thankful for your home, job, friends and family, partner, pets, health, money, food, hobbies, achievements, opportunities, or whatever it may be, just reminding yourself of all the great things you have at your fingertips can really help adjust your outlook on life. Give it a try!

Episode 19: Call My Agent with Nina Lee
"We went for our very early scan and there was no baby there. We just weren't expecting that news."
IVF can be a difficult journey for so many people and can take a real toll on those involved. But when you hear stories from people like Nina Lee, our recent podcast guest who now has two beautiful children as a result of IVF, it's so incredibly heartwarming. We're sending all our love to anyone currently going through IVF and hope that Nina's words in the episode give you all the hope and encouragement in the world 🧡 Head here to check out the episode: https://positiveish.buzzsprout.com

Episode 18: Confidence
"You know when you bring a cat home and they have to settle into the house? And they hiss and they're pissing everywhere, and then a week later they're walking around like they own the place? That's me."
There's nothing wrong with needing a little time to settle in before you start ruling the roost 😉 Check out our latest episode to hear us talk about coming out of our shells - https://positiveish.buzzsprout.com

Episode 17: Make 'Em Laugh with Amanda Graham
"Stand up comedy taught me two things. One was how to write comedy, how to formulate jokes and what works with my voice. The other thing I learnt from stand up was to NEVER date stand ups!"
Life lesson right there guys! Honestly, Amanda had so many funny stories to share with us while we recorded this episode we could've talked for hours - make sure you check it out: https://positiveish.buzzsprout.com

Episode 16: Strong Female Lead with Samantha Schnitzler
"Being a strong female lead is allowing yourself to be yourself, unapologetically."
We spoke to our very own strong female lead, Samantha Schnitzler, about what it really means to be strong, both on-screen and off. Samantha is someone who possesses an amazing amount of both inner and outer strength, and it was truly inspiring to speak with her about where that comes from. Make sure you check it out - https://positiveish.buzzsprout.com
Episode 15: The Power of Creativity with Gaby Di Salvo
We had such a laugh in this episode with Grow up Gaby, especially when Vicki Sargent told us this story about cracking out the ol' saxophone when she wants to get the creative juices flowing! 🤣
We talk about how experimenting with different creative projects can help you express yourself and turn a bad day around, even if you're not a dab hand at them - it doesn't matter, as long as you enjoy what you're doing!
Check out the full episode here: https://positiveish.buzzsprout.com
Episode 14: Self-acceptance with Emily Andrew
"You can never hate yourself into a body that you love. It doesn’t matter how much work you put in at the gym, it doesn’t matter how many calories you count, if your place of change is coming from a negative point then it’s not going to be a long-lasting change, and it won’t be a positive one either."
This, right here, is why we LOVE Emily Andrew (Healthy Balance With Emily - Online Pilates and Wellbeing).
You can hear more wise words from Emily in this week's episode: https://positiveish.buzzsprout.com
Episode 13: Cut Your Own Path
It's important to appreciate your WHOLE life, not just zone in on certain parts. Sure, focus on your goals, but don't let those things you're striving for take over your entire life; you're more than just those aims and objectives! Celebrate all your little wins, make time for things you enjoy, take a break from work and share your joy with the people in your life. And don't forget to call your mum!

We have sound bites! 🙌 🎉 You can now hear a taste of our episodes and what our lovely guests (and occasionally the two of us) have to say, right here. About time, right?!
