I’ve been very fortunate to have played on many wonderful violins over the years, and I have learned something from each of them. But there has been no greater joy, privilege, and education than to have had the opportunity to play the 1715 “Marsick” Stradivarius for the last 25 years. It continues to be an enormous source of inspiration, pushing me to be the best that I can be.

Bruckner's bicentenary is 2024, and a great way to kick things off is to tune in to Scala FM tomorrow, the release day of Domingo Hindoyan's wonderful new recoding with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra of Symphony No.4 'Romantic'. Scala are featuring the album throughout the day, tomorrow 23 February.

Domingo Hindoyan conducts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in an album of dramatic and passionate Preludes and Intermezzos from some of the most popular Italian operas. The trend took hold in Italy in the 1870s where it was promoted by the authors Luigi Capuana and Giovanni V***a under the
banner of verismo, the Italian word for realism, and drew inspiration from the naturalism of Émile Zola and his disciples.
