For this FFAF we have a question about birth control. Some BC is abortifacient and terminates life. Some simply stops fertilization and is therefore safe. Today we will talk about the difference whilst our questions and comments begin rolling in. I pray something edifying and informative is said that helps you on your journey to eternity.

The Dangers of Being Hyper-Critical

A Biblical Perspective

Criticism can be helpful when it’s done with the right spirit and intent. However, a hyper-critical attitude, where a person constantly finds fault without offering solutions or seeing the bigger picture, is harmful. The Bible warns against this kind of behavior, showing us how dangerous it can be for our spiritual health and the well-being of others.

Christians and Politics

A Matter of Stewardship, Not Idolatry

There is a growing mindset among some Christians that choosing not to participate in the political process is a sign of heightened spirituality. Many signal their supposed moral superiority by disengaging, while simultaneously mourning the ever-increasing decline of the moral condition of society. Yet, such an approach fails to align with the responsibilities laid forth in scripture. Rather than being a demonstration of virtue, this withdrawal leaves a vacuum, one that others—who may not share biblical convictions—are more than willing to fill.

We have had a listener question about mechanical instruments of music. It is a pretty specific question. Since I have not covered this topic in awhile I thought I just would cover the topic and answer the question toward the end of the podcast. This has been a pretty volatile topic in the past. Maybe we can change some hearts and minds today.

This will be available for reading at approximately 3 AM CST

Patriotism, when properly understood, is not a sin. In fact, the Bible demonstrates that it is possible to love one's country while remaining faithful to God. Paul expressed a deep love for his nation, Israel, in Romans 9:3, stating that he could wish himself "accursed from Christ" if it would benefit his brethren. Loving one's country and desiring its well-being does not conflict with one's devotion to God, as long as it remains in submission to the higher allegiance we owe to the Lord. We are called to honor all men, "love the brotherhood, fear God, and honor the king" (1 Peter 2:17). Patriotism that acknowledges God's ultimate authority and seeks the good of one’s nation aligns with the principles of Scripture.

Someone took umbrage at applying what the OT said about judging and bribery to out time today. This confused me greatly. Usually the issue folk have, if they even have one, is over applying the OT to our time. In this episode Aaron and I will talk about this issue and how to apply the OT to the Christian age.

Serving Like Christ

The Virtue of Humility

In Philippians 2:2-11, Paul gives an exhortation to the brethren at Philippi, calling upon them to "fulfil [his] joy" by being likeminded, having the same love, and being of one accord and one mind. These qualities of unity and brotherly love, however, are rooted in a much deeper virtue: the humility of mind that esteems others better than self (Philippians 2:3). In this passage, Paul points the brethren to the highest example of humble service—the example of Christ Himself.

The Danger of Apathy

Spiritual Complacency in the Heart of the Bible Belt

The Bible Belt, long heralded as the spiritual center of the United States, is a region known for its deep religious roots. Faith and the preaching of God's Word hold a prominent place in the daily lives of many. Churches are abundant, and public expressions of faith are widespread. Yet, as with any spiritual environment, there are dangers to be wary of, chief among them the creeping peril of apathy.

One of the most harmful challenges any congregation faces is the attitude of entitlement. Our society has conditioned people to adopt this mindset, often viewing it as acceptable or even virtuous, despite its destructive nature. In this episode of Cogitations, we will examine what the Bible teaches about entitlement and explore the solutions God provides. My hope is that something shared will be both edifying and informative.

The begining of our Friday show this week will be me trying to develop a thought I had in a past podcast episode about study vs reading of the Bible. We will still take all comers when it comes to comments and questions. I just like to have someting to talk about whilst restream is building the audience on the platform.
