Major General Ayub Matiri was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Chairperson of the National Multi-Agency Command Centre which was tasked with controlling the spread of Corona virus.
He previously served as the Commander of the Armoured Brigade, the KDF arm responsible for military tanks. The deceased also worked as the secretary to the National Security Advisory Committee and as chief adviser on domestic security.

For governor to be good she should do everything at gun point. She offers ward fund but you refuse but you demand for a figure you haven't demanded from any other governor. If she is offering 15million per ward, that's a good amount. King'ang'i offered 20million for the first two years and then 10million in the subsequent years. There is a reason King'ang'i trimmed it from 20million to 10million. The governor has to have flagship projects and money has to be available for other responsibilities. The county government belongs to all of us, the governor, county employees, county assembly members and all the people of Meru. Any negotiations in Meru should factor that. A group of people should not think that they are more important than others because they wield political power. It's the honourable people who gave them that power. Civil servants are quite because of the nature of their work but they are residents and voters from Meru to. You can't be manipulating their jobs anyhow because you feel your position is threatened.
You demand they be transferred from their areas of work because you feel your elected position is threatened . When did it become a crime to serve from your home area. Why fight people who aren't interested in war?
Those who feel that they are more important than other Meru people because they hold positions let me tell you you that you are not.
Hii kivuli itaisha, get to serve the people in the best way possible. Let's be honest and have people's interest first.
And to MPs, who elected you to demand a share of government from county government?
Have you forgotten your role at the national level?
Why is Meru being short changed at national scene but you are here in county making demands.
To Kathuri Murungi, you are not the first Meru senator, we had senator Kiraitu Murungi and Mithika Linturi, they didn't demand a share of county government through fixing sitting governors. You are elected to senate to guard devolution not to fight your governor just because you have plans of vying for governor. Do your work and wait till 2027 you vie for the position you want. Those who are interested in the position of governor or want their master to be Meru governor should give the current governor peace till 2027 when there will be a contest. Governor Kawira Mwangaza was elected by Meru, stop crippling and sabotaging her, let her work for people. MCAs, take the 15million ward fund and prove your worth to people.
We are residents of Meru and we not curtailed from expressing my opinion on matters that affect me and our people. It's efforts in futility to muzzle a section of Meru residents, we can ask for those positions from wherever we will be if that the fear. Ati you be consulted before county appointments, are you being consulted when appointment and projects are being done by national government because Meru is being sidelined? Which chapter and section of constitution mandates the governor to consult MPs about appointment. Wacheni utoto.
We are never threatened. We made a solemn declaration not to live in fear and uncertainty and we should always speak our minds.
Meru must be happy 🙏

This morning, H.E Governor Bsp. Kawira Mwangaza and her Deputy Hon. Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia received a visit from great general in the kingdom of God, Bishop Dr. Wilfred Lai.

The man of God led powerful prayers to anoint the office of the Governor, prayed for Meru county's excellence as well as a good relationship between the Executive and the Assembly.

Governor Kawira expressed her desire for Meru county to lead spiritually, economically, socially and in every aspect. She pledged to support the church fully.
