My thoughts as this wonderful day comes to a quiet close:

I am extremely grateful for the Born Day wishes! Thank you!

I look at my life from the perspective of gratitude. I am grateful to God that he has blessed me with another rotation around the sun.

I am grateful for the people that have touched and blessed my life over the years.

I am grateful for my own life experiences that have taught me valuable lessons of the course of my life, and those lessons are what carries me to this day. I know am not perfect, but it's a goal I strive towards daily. I am starting to look at failure as the lesson I need to learn so that I can continue to grow and move forward.

I am VERY GRATEFUL for you, Monica Reese!!!! You have been right here with throughout my good, bad, and indifferent these last 4 years!!!! You have been my stalwart partner, the one that has helped right my ship, the one who constantly speaks life into me, and you continue to be my lover and my good friend. I love you to life my Queen, and I am eternally grateful to you!!!

I am grateful to those whom I call friends, but also grateful for those who look at me and call me their enemy. I hold no malice in my heart towards you, only love and benevolence.

As I travel down the path toward 53, 52 is beginning to look VERY good on me, and I am damn sure gonna embrace it, take it all in, and hold on tight, because I know this is gonna be an interesting ride. This year comes with a little more peace and acceptance....not just in my chronological age but in my mental, emotional, and physical aspects of myself. I am beginning to understand what LEGACY really means and what it is important to just not leave something behind for those that need ir are willing to recieve it, but also to push something or someone forward.

Overall....I am very grateful for this life I have been gifted. I am even more grateful to be able to take this walk with people that love and care about me, and I them.

I give God glory, honor, and praise for this day and every day I am gifted hereafter!!!!!

So.....

I am bout to say something that could possibly be consider controversial, but I consider it to be true. Mind you this just my own thought, and it was something I thought about after looking at my own life...

"We are all Wounded Warriors is some aspect or another."

Why do I say that?

Well because we all have been in, or continue to be in some type of warfare, this DOES NOT exclude the kind of warfare that involves physical weapons of mass destruction. There is a thing called spiritual warfare, there is thing called emotional warfare, there is a thing called mental warfare. There are wounds suffered from each kind of warfare. Mind you, this is not to disparage the brave men and women who put it all on the line for us, but it is to make clear that we all fight on different battlefields and those battlefields leave us with lasting scars and wounds. I think I am gonna a show about this….what yall think?

Brothers.....

We have to get out of the mindset of slapping little ass bandages over big ass emotional and mental wounds!!!! Properly clean and dress those wounds!!!

We have to get out of the mindset that what we feel does not matter....it does!!!!!

We have to embrace both the healing and the rehabilitation process!!!! Both are essential!!!!

We have to realize that we are human and we are subject to the FULL spectrum of emotions....stop thinking you are immune!!!

We have to engage in difficult yet fruitful conversations with each other as men, and we need to engage in the same conversations with our sisters!!!!

We must be better for the sake of our children, and their children!!!! What we push forward is just as important as what we leave behind!!!

We have to embrace !!!! This is not just a hashtag, it is a process!!!

No leader in the history of man was born to be a leader. They had to be FOLLOWERS first!!!!
