One of the most difficult things living cross-culturally is finding a place that you belong. Whether it’d be a location, group, mental space or identity, defining a space where we feel comfortable in settling can be a huge quest and a serious struggle for many of us.
But as unique beings who have lived outside of conventional life experiences, do we really have to fit in to pre-existent categories?🌱 When you feel lost, try looking for an answer inside you🌏 The world might be bigger and stronger in the inside rather than on the outside⚡

What kind of moments make you reflect on your "self"?💡
Being a part of society, it can be difficult to always interpret your existence in an objective way.

However, no matter what the world says you have the power to define who you are.
Once you cut out the external noise and notice who the genuine person inside you is, there is a discovery in your true strengths and the understanding that your possibilities are unlimited😉🌱

Take a moment to try challenging how you view yourself. Who you think you are today defines who you will become tomorrow.

We’re often pressured to carry all the weight and burden on our own.
But is that really true?
Did anyone ever tell you that it’s ok to ask for help?
In an extremely overwhelming time right now, it is especially important to look after ourselves. But taking care of everything on our own is not necessarily what self-care is. Asking others for support and help is an essential part of it. Even if they do not fully understand your experiences, acknowledging that someone is there changes the game🊋
If you are a CCK/TCK feeling like nobody will ever understand you, you are not alone. We hear you and we see you.

Do you have difficulty presenting your Cross-Cultural background or have felt burdened from it? Guess what! You’re not alone🌻
Introducing the In-between Club, a space for ALL Cross-Cultural individuals; TCK(Third Culture Kid), CCK(Cross-Cultural Kid)s to acknowledge, embrace their “self” to rise to their infinite potentials hidden beneath🌱
In the increasingly globalized world today, the TCK/CCK community has become extremely diverse with every individual holding their own unique story.
However, despite the common glorification of interculturalism, there still remains a lot of misunderstandings and even a lot of shaming around Cross-Cultural individuals. In fact, these backgrounds can be what hold TCK/CCKs back from being their genuine selves.
The in-between club is a space that sheds light on the unspoken stories to embrace all TCK/CCKs, enhancing the possibilities they hold to thrive in their best true selves⚡
Through podcasts(and more to come!) we hope to create a home where anyone can feel accepted, be inspired and blossom to their true potential🧡

About Us (日本語埌に続く)

The in-between club was formed by three young adult CCKs(Cross Cultural Kids) and TCKs(Third Culture Kids) who have roots in Japan. Growing up as CCKs, each of us have faced an “identity crisis” at some point in our lives. Hiding stories of growing up overseas for the wish to “fit-in”, is something that we have all gone through. We also think that it is an experience widely shared among TCKs and CCKs. Sometimes these challenges have become the obstacles for us to show up as our genuine selves, and have hindered us from maximizing our true potentials. These struggles were also often internalized with thoughts of self-invalidation such as “maybe I'm the only one who feels this way
 maybe I’m just weird.” or the environmental pressure of assimilation. We have learned from our experiences that sharing stories with one another, getting to know the existence of people with similar experiences, is a way to help one gain a sense of acceptance and positivity about themselves. Learning, understanding, and navigating the CCK and TCK experience is a way of self-empowerment. We wish to share this with all of those who can relate. We think that there is a significance in being aware of how the past impacts the present, and that bringing those experiences for self-improvement and growth can be life-changing. We hope that through podcasts and social media, the “In-between Club” can be a safe place for everyone to feel a sense of belonging, to be an opportunity to reflect and love oneself for who they are.

In-between clubは日本にルヌツを持぀人のCCKずTCKによっお䜜られたした。CCKずしお育っおきた私たちは、それぞれの人生の䞭でアむデンティティに぀いお考えたり悩んだりするこずがありたした。䟋えば、瀟䌚に銎染むために、海倖で暮らしおいたこずやその経隓を隠しお過ごすこずがありたす。このように、本来の自分らしくいられないこずや息苊しさなどの経隓を通じお、時に「自分はどこか倉なのだろうか この違和感はなんだろう」ず考えるこずがあるのではないでしょうか。 私たちは、CCKやTCKなどが持぀それぞれのストヌリや経隓をシェアしたり考えたりするこずで、自分は䞀人ではないこず、たた新たな気づきず発芋を通じお、自身のアむデンティティに぀いおポゞティブに感じられるきっかけになりたした。このような孊びや気づきの堎をより倚くのCCKやTCKず共有するこずで、個人の゚ンパワメントを目指しおいたす。䞻な掻動ずしお、ポッドキャストや゜ヌシャルメディアを通じお「家族」、「キャリア」、「アむデンティティ」、「蚀語」など様々なテヌマをもずに考えたり、話し合ったりし発信を行っおいきたす。 In-between clubを通じお、個人がありのたたの自分でいるこずに誇りをもおるきっかけを感じられる「居堎所」になるこずを願っおいたす。
