Hey everyone, Priddy here. Been awhile since we had a chat, so wanted to drop an update.

With COVID restrictions lifted, and vaccinations up, gaming is returning to normal. We will be hosting a small Spectre day at the local shop at the end of July to celebrate the arrival of Cody’s first child. A man-shower, if you will.

And we will be pulling out all the stops to throw a narrative Spectre event at Warzone Houston on September 25th (tickets on sale soon.) This event will showcase the custom tables we had for Adepticon last year along with some new surprises.

Stay tuned for more in the near future!

Today we're launching an excellent set of products by our close friends at Spectre Miniatures! We've been working with them for a while behind the scenes to get these ready and we are really thrilled that we can be a US based source for this select range of modern resin kits!

Over time we'll be working with them to add additional kits to this range but for now we have some of the top selling items to offer :)

All of these kits are produced here in the US and will ship out of our warehouse in Texas.

I know we have been radio silent for a bit. I wanted to share breaking news from Adepticon. Like many of you, we at RoE love Adepticon and look forward to it yearly. We understand the decision to cancel for 2021 and support the event looking out for the safety of attendees. Trust that RoE will be locked and loaded for Adepticon 2022!

AdeptiCon 2021

We hope that everyone is well in these unprecedented and uncertain times. It has been a challenging year for all of us. It is with a heavy heart that we must announce officially what many of you have already come to realize, that it will be impossible to hold AdeptiCon in March of 2021. The continued ongoing effects of the pandemic and the restrictions imposed by the State of Illinois mean we are unable to effectively plan and organize the logistical efforts involved with running the convention. As you may be aware, by late November AdeptiCon has already typically opened hotel blocks and launched registration and staff and attendees alike have started making plans to see old friends and begin new hobby projects.

Like Americans across the country, we are optimistic that brighter days are coming, but the fluidity of the situation does not allow for the firm commitments required to see AdeptiCon realized in the way we’ve all come to expect. We do not make this decision lightly and there is no group more disappointed than the AdeptiCon staff, but current restrictions along with our continued first priority, the health and well-being of our attendees and staff, makes cancellation the only option. We believe it is the responsible one.

To that end, we have notified and consulted with our venue and myriad partners to negotiate the necessary arrangements to cancel AdeptiCon 2021, while simultaneously securing the future of the convention for years to come.

We understand that this was not the announcement anyone wanted to hear and certainly not one we are happy about making. However, this decision allows us to focus fully on the future of AdeptiCon. Instead of being confined and limited by the uncertainty of current circumstances, we can focus on planning the best possible AdeptiCon 2022. It also allows us to continue the development of the Ancient Order of AdeptiCon perks and the launch of an AdeptiCon webstore that would make AdeptiCon merchandise available year round.

Once again, we appreciate your understanding, patience, and the unprecedented loyalty of our attendees. If you had chosen, previously, to roll your registration forward, rest assured that it will move to 2022/2023 without any issues. This has been a challenging time for the nation and while AdeptiCon thanks everyone involved in making the convention the best event in the world, from attendees to volunteers to exhibitors, we would especially like to acknowledge those of you serving your communities in the medical and first-responder fields. Your tireless work allows us to see the light at the end of the tunnel and gives us confidence that not only will AdeptiCon be back, stronger than ever, but that our country will too. Thank you,

The AdeptiCon Staff

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of content lately. Both Cody and I were busy as “essential” during the height of the pandemic. Work continues to be busy for both of us. We had hoped to have a new episode out by now but it hasn’t panned out yet.

Rest assured, though, that RoE isn’t gone and more content will come down the pipeline. Thank you for your patience and being a part of this community!

In the meantime, share a pic in the comments of what you’re been working on or games played!

Spectre dropped a solo scenario to help folks pass time while in quarantine. Let us know how your games go with it and we will discuss on the next episode!

With so many of us living in Isolation and unable to game with our regular opponents, we've decided to write some rules and a scenario for something we get asked about a lot... Zombies!

We've made the Scenario playable solo too, so as we know a lot of you have Zombie and Survivor models in your collections already, all you'll need is a copy of Spectre: Operations to get playing.

We hope you enjoy these rules as much as we enjoyed writing them. Stay tuned for more free content over the next few weeks.

You'll find these rules, with others on our Downloads Page

Hey all, we have been kicking around rules for pointing out vehicles. The link below is to the Alpha version of the rules we are discussing. This link will cover Civilian Vehicles and how to upgrade them to Specialised Civilian Vehicles. We do plan on covering Light Special Operations Vehicles and Heavy Vehicles in the near future. Please post your feedback or send them in a private message to the page. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

We miss the chance to meet up and play with everyone, but know it’s the right call. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Look forward to 2021 with us. Cheers, friends!

Today would’ve been the first day of AdeptiCon 2020. That fact really does hit home and is felt keenly by all of us. The health and well-being of everyone involved with the convention is still very important to us and we hope everyone is taking the necessary steps to keep yourself and your family safe.

I wanted to take a minute and thank everyone. There are so many people that deserve mention that it would be foolish to try and list them all here. Suffice it to say that a lot of people are still working very hard to salvage what we can and lay the foundations for future AdeptiCons. We appreciate everyone’s patience.

Finally, I wanted to share with you this year’s annual ‘Welcome Letter.’ It was written in what seems like ages ago, but the message rings especially relevant and true now more than ever.

Welcome Letter 2020

“We few. We happy few.
We band of brothers, for he today
That sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother.”
Henry V

Welcome to AdeptiCon 18. As we move deep into our second decade and AdeptiCon reaches “adulthood”, it’s natural to become a little introspective. You can’t help but wonder how that original Warhammer 40K tournament in central Illinois, with its couple dozen players, became one of the largest and most diverse miniatures wargaming conventions in the world, with an ever-growing and incredibly loyal group of attendees, volunteers, and staff? I think the answer lies in an anecdote we all know well. How many times have we heard someone at AdeptiCon say that they only see you once a year? How many of these micro-reunions do we witness on Wednesday and Thursday at the con? AdeptiCon is a celebration of all things miniatures wargaming, but that celebration would be entirely incomplete without the friends this hobby has given us.

It has been widely reported, lately, that table-top gaming has made a major comeback. We’re told that people, tiring of their screens and the resulting feelings of isolation, are rediscovering the social element of role-playing and board games and enjoy the novelty of actual interaction with other players. But while playing games in-person might seem innovative for some, it’s something we’ve all known for years. Miniatures gaming is a very social hobby and always has been. Whether you engage in combat on your own dining room table, conduct your campaigns in a friend’s basement, launch invasions at a local game store, or take to the field at AdeptiCon, sharing the experience with other gamers and hobbyists is what this is all about. It’s important to remember that.

Social media has been, for the most part, a net positive for the hobby. You can easily share everything from tactics to photos of painted models with like-minded enthusiasts across the globe. You can watch painting tutorials or game play at your leisure and connect with the community at will. Of course, as with any other fandom or hobby, there will always be those loud voices that just can’t seem to move beyond the negative. Luckily those voices are increasingly easy to tune out and the Internet can be an invaluable resource. However, with that being said, nothing can replace the fun of moving your toy soldiers across the table-top battlefield, rolling some dice, and enjoying the company of friends.

Finally, I would like to officially welcome the return of the Golden Demon miniatures painting competition to the United States. From the very first time we stared, gaping wide-eyed, at the Demon coverage in a White Dwarf, we knew that this competition was something remarkable. If you’ve ever been to a Games Day and have seen a Golden Demon in person, you’re probably as excited as I am. If this is your first Demon, you’re in for some incredible eye candy. And if you’re entering the competition- good luck!

I'm a little late sharing this. Hopefully everyone saw the new Baba Yaga release earlier today. He's a new sculpt that can be an alternate to the limited edition model. And he has official rules now! Chime in below with your thoughts on the rules. Cody and I will be trying them out on the Black Site Studios subway table pretty soon.

And not to leave out the Aftermath kill team. I had to get a set of these guys when I ordered JW earlier. Plenty of cool scenario ideas for them!

12/03/2020

Hey everyone, if you haven't seen the news, Adepticon announced the cancellation of the 2020 event. While we were looking forward to seeing everyone and sharing our narrative, we know that this decision was made with the best interest of all attendees in mind.

Looking forward, we will be showcasing our Adepticon tables with some battle reports in the next several weeks. And we are planning on doing something here in Texas before the end of the year. Stay tuned for more details.

I would like to thank the various sponsors for their support. We will be moving this support forward to our next planned event. In no particular order...
