Mortal Kombat was created by only four people in 10 months.

In 1991, Midway Games enlisted the skills of programmer Ed Boon, who was 27 at the time, and comic book artist John Tobias, who was 22, to come up with and develop a fighting arcade game within a tight 10-month timeframe. Boon and Tobias completed their team by adding artist John Vogel and sound designer Dan Forden.

Final Fantasy was original named “Fighting Fantasy”. As Squaresoft’s condition worsened at the time, it had reached its lowest point in their company career, this game was their very, VERY last resort. As it was their final project, they changed the name from “Fighting Fantasy” into “Final Fantasy”. The first Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Origin, was released in 1987 for Nitendo console and has managed to reach 400,000 copies in sales, in Japan.

Bandai Namco released a new trailer Thursday for Dragon Ball: The Breakers, developer Dimps’ asymmetrical online multiplayer game based on Akira Toriyama’s iconic anime franchise. The trailer, which features Dragon Ball Z antagonist Frieza and his lieutenants Zarbon and Dodoria fighting players in an open-world arena resembling Planet Namek, revealed that the game will release on Oct. 14.

Chris Evans recently told MTV News that he’d be more interested in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Johnny Storm/Human Torch than as Steve Rogers/Captain America, the latter of whom he played for a decade in various MCU tentpoles. Jacob Batalon recently reshared an image of himself holding a Hobgoblin action figure on his Instagram story, which was shared via Reddit, leading to further speculation about the future of Ned Leeds in the MCU.

While the character of Ned Leeds has been associated with the Hobgoblin in the comics, it's a complicated story but we will have to wait and see how it unravels in Spider-man 3 🕷😤

Fresh off an appearance at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase event, Blizzard has revealed even more information about upcoming dungeon-crawler Diablo 4. The awesome looking action game was given a 2023 release date on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. While an exact date wasn't confirmed, all games shown during the event are said to be coming in the next 12 months. This means a June launch at the latest.

On the plus side, fans were given a much closer look at Diablo 4 gameplay, which is shaping up nicely.

This includes a preview of the open-world, which contains more than 140 dungeons, as well as a host of random in-game events and boss encounters. Judging by the gameplay (above), players can explore the world on horseback.

A Game of Thrones sequel series focusing on Jon Snow is officially in the works.

Kit Harington is set to reprise his role as the beloved character from the HBO show, in the show which is currently in the early stages of development.

No plot details have been revealed at the time of writing, but the new project suggests Snow’s fate since discovering his true name was Aegon Targaryen could be upended.

The highly anticipated Bethesda RPG received a new gameplay trailer today during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase 2022 in which Bethesda boss Todd Howard made an appearance to delve deeper into Starfield's gameplay.
 
According to Howard, Starfield will have over 100 systems and more than 1,000 planets - all of which will be completely explorable. Not only this, but Howard also shared that players will be able to land in cities but also explore the rest of the planet as well.

Overwatch 2 will be launching “in early access” on October 4th, Activision Blizzard announced Sunday. At least the PVP parts of it will be. And in a major change, it will be free to play — the original Overwatch was a paid title. It will be releasing on PC, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

As reported by GameRant, YouTube channel Bellular News calculated that to fully upgrade a character in the game, players would, in theory, have to spend a whopping £88,000 (or $110,000) on in-game currency. Diablo Immortal has three ways to enhance your characters - as well as your XP and equipment levels, we have the fabled Legendary Gems. We all love a good gem in mobile titles, right? Wrong, because this is where everything starts to fall down.

Getting your hands on Legendary Gems is ridiculously difficult - as Eurogamer writes, earning them is totally random, and very rare. Worst of all, reportedly, top-rated gems are only available via pay-to-win options, ruling free-to-play players out of the equation altogether. As for those pay-to-win options, well, there’s not even a guarantee that you’ll get what you want - the gems can’t be bought outright, and can only be acquired via random drops from Legendary Chests (which are, in all but name, loot boxes).
