I remember not knowing about the Enneagram. ⁠
I remember the days of struggling so much trying to figure out what it was I needed to do to overcome my procrastination. ⁠
⁠
I remember crying at my desk one day after feeling like nothing I was doing in my business was working and I just didn't know how to fix it. 😣⁠
⁠
It wasn't that I didn't know how to create a business. I had all of that, either in my head or in online courses that I'd bought or in notebooks from coaching sessions, or online webinars or personal development books. ⁠
⁠
You name it, I probably have it. ⁠
I was a self help, education, online resource ju**ie. 😔⁠
⁠
Worst of all, I knew that I had everything I needed knowledge wise to make this work, I knew what I had to do, I just couldn't figure out why I was holding myself back from doing it. ⁠
⁠
I promised that if the universe would show me what I needed to do to figure this out, that I would dedicate the rest of my days on this earth showing people how to do the same. 🙏⁠

Fast forward to today. ⁠

After working with the Enneagram for a long time, discovering (and confirming) my type. (I'm a type 5)⁠

After truthfully and non-judgementally seeing the mechanisms of my own personality in action... ⁠
I did wake up.⁠

I AM waking up. (because it's a life long journey) ⁠

And now that I know how to break free from the limiting beliefs and subconscious defense programming that used to keep me safe. ⁠

9's! Also known as The Sweethearts of the enneagram! But do not be fooled by that nickname when it comes to your strength as a business owner and entrepreneur as you have strengths that a lot of other types could learn from!⁠

You are grounding, positive and calming leaders. 💗⁠

And even through the most chaotic of times, you can help people to wonder why they aren't panicking as much as they thought they should be! ⁠
⁠
You have an ability to see things from many different perspectives which helps you on your path to find the best course of action when you tell others exactly how you think you should proceed.⁠

You also understand that a team of people with different strengths can help you as you grow as you can brainstorm things together. You appreciate everyone elses' viewpoints but also have to be careful about not letting that take you away from your original focus!⁠

oh our wonderful 8's! ⁠
The ones that have the potential to be seen as the most natural leaders of the Enneagram. It's no wonder that the board members in massive corporations across the world mostly type as 8's! ⁠
⁠
Your internal drive that propels you forward in business makes you almost unstoppable when you know what you want. 💪⁠
⁠
And challenges that you come up against have nothing on you when you are in your element. You are determined and strong and not much will deter you from your path when you feel passionately about something. ⁠
⁠
You are an amazing advocate for those that do not have your level of strength too as you have the power and influence that can be used in a positive way to motivate others to find their own strength.⁠
⁠
You can be a voice when others feel they have none and you are more than happy to lead the way when it comes to this kind of thing. ⁠
⁠
People admire you for your strength, especially IF you can muster the courage to be vulnerable in front of them.⁠

7's! The ever motivational and enthusiastic leaders! ⁠

You have the power to create excitement and enthusiasm over all the ideas you have for your business. You want to do everything and you want to do it now! And you believe so much in the possibilities being endless that you can quite easily bring your team on board with you in the process! ⁠
⁠
They love having a leader like you that can egg them on and share what you believe is possible for your company. ⁠
⁠
You can also promote enthusiasm for your products and create the "feel good factor" around your services. ⁠
⁠
It is usually such a joy to work with you! ⁠
However, it is not always sunshine and rainbows (keep following for things to look out for as a business owner and entrepreneur) and sometimes there are downsides to these amazing strengths of yours! ⁠

A type 6, to me, is one of the most interesting types within the Enneagram when it comes to building a business especially! ⁠
⁠
You 6’s are natural team leaders and your ability to bring a team along with you allows you a strength that not all other types have.⁠
⁠
A lot of entrepreneurs struggle to let go of their control over every area of their business and they can find that as the owner, they can wear ALL of the hats. 🎩⁠
⁠
But when you 6’s discover how great you are at leading a team of people, then you, as the CEO will thrive. And this strength also falls in to being able to build a great community too. ⁠
⁠
You want everyone to stand together in solidarity. ⁠
⁠
Your loyalty and commitment to those around you also helps as each team member will feel valued by you (as long as you are at your best that is. Your strength in this area can also be a weakness, something that I’ll cover in later posts! So keep following 👑 for more!) ⁠

The ability you have to see potential pitfalls in new challenges, makes you excellent at calculating risks and preparing for different outcomes, the question is not whether you can handle the pitfalls (you are more resilient that you give yourself credit for) but whether you can take the leap of faith needed to take that risk, trusting that the pitfalls will not arise!⁠

When you are at your best, you are masters of strong and steady growth because you keep going. You’ve already played out the worst case in your mind and because that rarely happens, you are one of the most resilient types of the enneagram. 💪⁠

You fives are often seen as the most misunderstood numbers on the Enneagram and so, in my opinion, are sometimes underestimated!⁠
⁠
In terms of how analytical and insightful you are, you can have excellent viewpoints on situations and are out of the box thinkers which can help any person you work with be able to view things from another perspective.⁠
⁠
Your ability to detach emotionally from circumstances can also be a great strength when pursuing goals in business, especially if you focus on the taking action that counts instead of the achievement of results!⁠
⁠
Of course, not everything is a positive with you 5’s (I’m one of you!) and I’ll share more about weaknesses of each type in business in the next series. ⁠
⁠
Your ability to be self sufficient means you can work really well on your own and still stay committed to the task at hand, working long hours if you need to and still enjoying the solitude! ⁠
⁠
Your ability to acquire knowledge also makes you great at teaching or educating others with what you have learned so do not be afraid of not knowing everything... you are competent in your chosen field and can go far when you take action.⁠

I know this may be something you long to hear and so you should but you ARE unique as well as so many things you do and so you should not be ashamed of that!⁠
⁠
Your creativity and motivation to be different and stand out from the crowd can make you incredible business marketers in the sea of sameness, especially if you are building a business in a “saturated” market.⁠
⁠
Business owners really do need to be creative and this ability comes naturally to you.⁠
⁠
Of course, it is not all good though! And your weaknesses can also hinder you from making progress in your business (but this is not the time for me to talk about business weaknesses – tune in to the next series for tips on overcoming your weaknesses!)⁠

Your need for authenticity can also means you show vulnerability, courage, honesty and integrity in your work which allows for deep connections with other people.⁠

Enneagram 3's you are a force to be reckoned with when you want to succeed at something because your drive and ability to hold the vision of what success looks like to you will get you there.

Often people have this impression that Type 3's make some of the best CEO's and that most really successful business owners surely must be 3's but that's not the case!

Any one of us enneagram types have the ability to be great business owners as we all have unique talents, but 3's have this as a core motivation to succeed which is often where the assumption comes from.

Nevertheless, having the drive to succeed can be used as a super power for a healthy 3 and it is surely a way to get where you want to go very fast.

Your ability to think practically about how you will get there is very helpful to a lot of people too and it can motivate people to keep pushing forward in the face of adversity, but like every type, you must also be careful for your blindspots.
(I'll cover these in a later series, so be sure to follow to see it first!)

What's also a strength of yours is when you use your ability to see how things are being perceived for the good of your brand perception.
How are people seeing your business from the outside?
How can you ensure to make the best first, second and third impression?
Your ability to create an experience that looks good to people is pretty great, so lean on that (in a healthy way) to progress your business!

Enneagram Two's! You are people people! ⁠
You are excellent at creating and building relationships with people online and offline which will be a massive boost to your business for sure! ⁠
⁠
If you can tap into that ability to understand other people's needs and merge that into building the relationship then you have a business super power right there. ⁠
⁠
Even though you have to be careful about the amount of giving you give, and the reasons why you give it, the service of giving is truly alive within you. ⁠
It leaves people feeling warm and cozy in your presence, people feel valued by having you around. ⁠
⁠
Collaborating is also an excellent choice for you so if you are looking to market yourself or your business some more then look for people to collaborate with. ⁠
It's from these collaborations with others that will spark your giving power to serve and your energy will bounce off of the other person to create something special. 😊⁠

I've been taking requests for what type of series I should do next on and so this series is all about the positive aspects of each type, especially adding our own twist on what makes you great at business! ⁠

It's important to know that when we harness the healthy powers that we have for each type, we can use them to our advantage when growing our business! ⁠

There is so much that can be said about the positive aspects of each type and the unique strength that they bring to the world! ⁠

What's so interesting about our types and something that you can begin to work into your growth strategy is this. ⁠⁠
What is our biggest strength 👍⁠
can also be our biggest weakness. 👎⁠⁠
My ability to research and hone in on a subject, has the power to help me become and expert in one topic. It means I learn faster than a lot of other people. It means I can use that knowledge to help other people and advance me further in life... faster. 😎⁠⁠
But it is not all good. ⁠
Sometimes that same ability has me retreating into withdrawal, to hide away learning about something and not share that knowledge with the world. Sometimes I can be so engrossed in learning something new that I forget about taking action on what I'm learning, I can fear not being knowledgeable enough, I can forget about my self care. I even forget to eat! 😦⁠⁠
We have to learn to find the right balance when it comes to using our "superpowers" so that it doesn't consume us and stop us from getting where we want to be or interfere with our relationships that we treasure so much. ⁠⁠

We all need support, but part of me believes that our 9’s are the ones that need it the most because they are the ones that spend most of their time avoiding telling people how they really feel, pushing their own feelings down into the abyss, not expressing their own wishes for the sake of the rest of us. ⁠⁠
They should be encouraged to feel the freedom of expressing themselves, which might ruffle feathers (if people aren’t used to it) at first but will be worth it for everyone. ⁠⁠
There are fears that 9’s will lose something if they stand up for themselves but most of the time this is an unnecessary fear that has come from an old story they have told themselves in order to survive in the world when they were little people. ⁠⁠
So I feel like the support tips I’ve put in today’s post are appropriate for a 9. ⁠⁠

8’s are sometimes seen as aggressive. A term I do not like the sound of as I believe that the word “aggressive” is often mistaken as something negative. 😕 The word I would use to describe 8’s is assertive. ⁠
⁠
Assertive means having or showing a confident and forceful personality which sounds much more fitting. ⁠⁠
8’s are most probably aware of the energy that they can bring to a room. They may have been told in the past that they can come across as a little intimidating when they enter a room but it is not usually with bad intentions! ⁠⁠
They have a desire to protect themselves and so showing vulnerability can be hard for them. ⁠⁠
So we want to show our 8’s that they are OK to be vulnerable around us, that we won’t misuse that trust and that we understand the level of truth, honesty and strength (that sometimes we wish we could have ourselves!) ⁠⁠

7's are always trying to find ways to live life to the fullest and from the outside they can seem like the most adventurous types of the Enneagram but it isn't all as it seems for a 7. ⁠⁠
The pursuit of this fulfillment can come at a cost and 7's often find themselves without a clear direction, struggling to stick to commitments with an often scattered thought process. ⁠⁠
So how can we support these wonderful 7's that bring so much spontaneity that the rest of us could learn from? ⁠⁠

Another one of my sisters is a 6 (did you know I have 4 sisters? Types 1, 3, 6 & 9) ⁠⁠
I’ll share more about them in future posts, but this one is about my special 6. ⁠⁠
My 6 sister is loyal, caring and passionate about deep connections and she openly admits to always having an awareness of what could go wrong, which can be great for others to encourage less risk taking but also scare her into not taking action on the things she most wants in life. ⁠⁠

I’m an Enneagram type 5 through and through, so much so that my type said that I was closely associated with type 7 and 8 (the stress and growth arrows of my type) ⁠⁠
At first it was a little hard to admit, not all elements of each type are desirable and it takes some form of humility to be able to fully embrace your type and be open to sharing it with others.⁠⁠
But when you do embrace your type and you are willing to understand and truly accept the good and bad parts of what makes you you, then the path to growth is almost shown to you in unbelievably extraordinary ways! ⁠⁠
These tips to support 5’s (and the tips in the other type posts too!) are just the tip (excuse the pun) 😂 of the iceberg when it comes to what you can do to support the types you love. ⁠⁠
But they are a start. ⁠⁠

All the different types have different unique and beautiful things about them but this 4 is special to me! ⁠⁠

Out of my four sisters, only one of them is a 3. ⁠
This is a recent discovery for her so I'm looking forward to seeing what she thinks about her type and how it begins to help transform her life! ⁠⁠

I had a friend that was a 2 and I believe my mother is also a 2 (but this is yet to be confirmed, she must decide for herself) and those two, like the two 1’s in my family are very different. ⁠⁠
Two’s basic fear is of being unwanted and unloved and so most of the time, in some way or another, they try to accommodate other people in the hope that they will be appreciated and loved for their acts, rather than who they are. ⁠⁠
This causes 2’s to sometimes not take notice of their own needs and desires, or push them to the background in order to please other’s first.⁠⁠
The two’s I know would appreciate these gestures of support and encouragement but maybe I have missed something?⁠⁠

My husband and one of my sisters is a 1 and they have a lot of differences.⁠⁠
This reminds us that the Enneagram is not a black and white (or 9 coloured) grid that everyone fits into neatly and we really need to look at each person as an individual that has been shaped uniquely despite their number! ⁠⁠
Still, I think all three of these would be welcomed by both my sister and my husband as ways to support them and love them for the beautiful humans that they are! ⁠⁠
